Bought the 50 inch t.v. It’s a decent size and picture image is realistic. Amazon is easy to order and compared same t.v at best buy here was cheaper. The Amazon delivery guy was so kind to even bring it in for me.It only had two pieces for the stand. I wish it came with the tool to screw the screws with but it didn’t. I don’t know anything about tools and the regular screwdrivers don’t work so had to take a screw and someone at Walmart help me find the tool that looks like a pocket knife to screw it. Other than that it was easy. It says it’s a two person job but I did it by myself.

I purchased this TV to replace my 10 year old 55” LG LM7600 LCD TV. One month in and I am still impressed with the Samsung QN90B. While no TV is perfect in every area, this TV gets a lot of things right and has not disappointed or made me feel like I settled.I have a fairly bright room with three windows. The anti glare isn’t perfect but it does a reasonably good job with the reflections and the TV is bright enough to overcome most glare. The picture is big, bright and sharp. From an average user perspective, blooming isn’t noticeable during casual viewing. I mostly only notice it during the credits with white text on a black screen. People who like to get deep into the weeds will compare it to a OLED but I don’t see that as a fair comparison between two different types of screens with each having it’s strong points. The speakers in this TV will not win any awards, but they are not bad. If you compare them to a sound bar then you will be disappointed but they are adequate and at least as good as other TV’s in this price class. The Tizen OS is not great. It is not setup to provide a satisfying user experience but rather it is designed to generate AD revenue for Samsung. Fortunately, you can set the TV to Autorun the last app when the TV is turned on. I use the Apple TV 4k so whenever I turn on the TV it goes straight to my Apple TV instead of the Tizen interface. As far as settings go, once you become familiar with the menus it is fairly simple to find and change settings.Autorun SetupMenu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Start Screen Option > Autorun Smart Hub – Enabling Autorun Smart Hub automatically launches Smart Hub when the TV is turned on.Navigate to this option to enable or disable the feature – If Autorun Last App is set to on, the last used app is automatically run when you turn on the TV. You can turn this function on or off.SummaryI would highly recommend this TV to anyone who is in the market for a big bright TV with excellent image quality. I don’t watch live TV or sports but content from Netflix, HBOMAX, Apple TV+ and Prime Video is excellent on this TV.

First of all the shipping was relatively fast!!!It was delivered 2 days after order was placed even though I was quoted a week. The TV it’s self is great. Assembly and set up was very easy. The picture quality in my opinion is mind blowing. The sound quality even better!!!! I was debating on also purchasing a sound bar but as it is in my bedroom it won’t be needed. (Maybe if you have it in the living room or entertainment area) that being said very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend.

Last TV I purchased was a Panasonic Plasma in 2005. This one is Light Years ahead in almost every aspect. Very good picture, good sound and about 1/4 the weight of my old tv. Set up was extremely easy and connected with my Wi-Fi without trouble. The TV has 3 HDMI ports for easy connection of Satt/cable boxes or DVD players and the included remote has a USB C style rechargeable battery port (but does Not include a charging cable). The included stand for the TV are a pair of removable plastic “L” type brackets – they work well in stabilizing the unit. Samsung has a good rep with TV’s so hopefully it will have long term durability. The short while I have had this unit I’ve been very impressed with the quality and features for a very reasonable price.

Delivery service was exceptional ! Had delivery set up for 9am-12pm they got here at 9:10 am and were done in a very timely fashion. Did not pick the in home set up as my son was coming by later to help with installation. Although they did offer the the service of setting up the stand etc. Without a doubt would highly recommend the delivery service provided when you purchase a large screen. Eliminate the hassle of picking it up yourself and having to struggle to get it inside. Very well packed and as long as there are 2 people should have no problems with setting it up.

Let me first address the elephant in the room. Of course I noticed it was matte. I saw it in the description before I ordered it and was excited becuase it was going to be facing two large windows and glare would just tick me off to my core. It’s matte, that makes the colors off a little bit. The Netflix N isn’t as bright of a red & that’s okay. I’d rather that then a glare. It’s also facing a bright pendant light. I can safely watch anything and there is 0 glare. It’s worth whatever impact to the color as there can be.Renters, this is tough. There’s no way around this. Either there will be a gaping hole in the wall or there will be a series of small holes through the wall. Originally, I was going to do the one hole, but I hadn’t realized how big the hole was going to be till I saw the box.We used a magnet to fish it down and then put a credenza under the TV and drilled a hole through the back of it to connect to the TV box inside the credenza. It also houses the AppleTV.I hadn’t thought of it but it was super helpful to have in that area of the house. I have extra storage and a place to hid the remotes until I find a decorative box I like. We saved some easily accessible things until we know where we want to put them.

I was skeptical about getting this thru Amazon and not at a store but was pleasantly pleased at the delivery and ease of getting it setup. One reason I got it was for ease of use. I was able to add my U-verse program easily and have been enjoying YouTube. It has been very user friendly and I have been able to figure it out for the most part. It has a BEAUTIFUL picture and features. I went from using a grainy 10 year old tv to this 65 inch – why did I wait so long?

TV is great, be cautious ordering such a fragile item to be shipped. Product came unusable with the power connection point inside the TV broken and pushed into the TV. After mounting and powering on the TV would power cycle itself every few seconds making it impossible to navigate any screens to get to settings or diagnostics. Spoke to Amazon support who forwarded me to Samsung to try to get a service rep out to repair the TV. The Samsung rep recommended returning the TV for a replacement seeing as it was new out of the box, the Amazon rep was quick to click back onto the call and inform me they would not offer a replacement but could accept a return and I could purchase the TV again. The Samsung rep then sent me a text informing me that she had been hung up on and if I needed further help from Samsung to reach out to her, she still highly recommended replacing the entire unit. After speaking to the UPS driver who picked up the return he was very clear that boxes that do not fit in shelves are put flat on the floor, my suspicion is the TV was delivered flat and was damaged in shipping from the jarring. Now waiting 2 weeks for Amazon to issue a refund and out the cost of 2 TVs until then..Purchased a replacement at best buy where they beat amazons price, undamaged TV is great! Everyone who sees it sitting in art mode comment on how realistic the paintings look and how great the image is when viewing videos. The smart things app that accompanies the TV can be a little slow and confusing at times but fortunately it isn’t needed often. Highly recommend the Samsung frame, just caution having something so fragile come bouncing down the road to your home out of your control.

We had a Samsung TV we bought two years ago and it just died all the sudden..This TV arrived just in time for Baseball series and we are extremely happy. It is like being right there.Clear picture, sound is unbelievable and slim feature keeps everything stream line.We did have to get a Tech neighbor over to get it fully set up for we did not find the instruction clear nor easy for” non tech people”.You can formulate everything into one control which is a big Plus.We have had this for over a month and no problems and a joy to turn on for shows and music! The picture is so clear I do not have to wear my glasses as much as I did for the Samsung. I am very pleases

Mine has been operating crisply and nicely as a pc monitor for around 4 months now and is holding up wonderfully so far, especially nice since I grabbed it on sale. I have a q80r and they went missing online when I got to the point that I wanted another one. I took a chance on q80a hoping they would be visually similar enough to not be distracting for a symmetrical build I was going for and it turned out great and matches well. It has been a quality workhorse so far! I’ve put a lot of faith in samsung and haven’t been let down. Nice product 👍

Make sure you connect an external Bluetooth speaker for the best experience – the volume sucks. However, the picture quality and build quality are by far the best in the market for an outdoor TV.

This 70-inch Samsung Tv so far (a few days) meets may expectations regarding its picture and (somehow) its sound quality. I spent considerable time on adjusting tv settings to meet my expectations and I have achieved my goal, for you can control/adjust basically all aspects of the Tv picture, motion, sound, etc. However, this TV remote/pilot is quite annoying. It has minimum options to control, and it is difficult to use in a dark room (its buttons are not lit). Also, the Tv software/program annoyingly wants you to go on the internet and purchase/join some networks/providers. For my, using the cable provider, Spectrum, it is unnecessary policy of the Samsung. In essence, every time you turn on this TV it start with the Samsung Tv Plus, with icons of all these Netfixes, Hulus, Amazons, etc, plus your provider. However, there is a way to disable this defaulted preference and start your TV with the picture of the location where you have been when turned off TV. After a two more weeks:A problem with the so called “pink screen” developed. Basically, from time to time, when my TV was turned on it displayed just a pink screen with no picture nor any sound. I contacted a Samsung support which is overseas, of course. They made a record of my TV issue and accepted my photo of its pink screen. They said, it was due to the weak or disrupted/corrupted video signal, HDMI connection between the source and TV. However, upon plugin it in and out and in again, apparently, my HDMI cable was not causing this problem. After researching the internet I decided to call my Spectrum cable provider. To my surprise, the technician was quite familiar with this issue, and remotely tuned my cable box (HDR). Upon his tuning, my TV screen turned to have WAY better picture quality (!) and he promised me that the pink screen will never show on my screen again. So, now I have a way better picture, practically ideal quality. Also, I keep my fingers crossed that this pink screen will never pay me a visit. Also, I wonder, why this TV was not packed at its factory with a decent manual brochure clearly explaining all these issues to the clients.

Man! I do love my new TV! The picture is great! The sound is better than my old Visio!Easy to set up and though big, not too heavy. Good instruction, too. Meshs well withmy disc player, the cable, etc.Worth the money. Samsung is the best there is, I feel, and the bigger, the better!

Great picture in most ways. Skin tones still need some fine tuning. The speakers are actually good for a thin TV. Setting up a Samsung soundbar to it is another story. Two technicians from Samsung said to pack it up and ship it back. Another finally got it right. Documentation on the set isn’t greaat.

Love the tv. Easy setup. Wish it had more hdmi inputs. Had to purchase a hdmi hub for that. Sound bar is easy to install and setup. But…. soundbar keeps dropping e arc. Called samsung tech support which was no support. Replaced th supplied cable wit a better cable. Still same thing. Drops out and no sound. It does work with no selecting e arc. Just use arc. But bought this as a samsung package. You would think they would have worked out all the bugs

Overall very happy with purchase.Picture frame mode: looks fantastic, especially after adding a Samsung frame (purchased separately and shown in the pictures.) Paintings look absolutely real even up close. The brush strokes are so real looking! My only complaint is that the backlighting doesn’t adjust automatically based on the room lighting like it does when in TV mode. So as the sun sets the picture starts to look back lit giving away the illusion. It is possible to lower the backlighting with the remote to fix that, but it has to be done manually. Then the next day it’s too dark until you adjust it back up again. Would be perfect if it auto adjusted like it does in tv mode, but it doesn’t. Note that tv mode lighting is completely separate from frame mode lighting, which is good because the frame needs to be lower brightness when in frame mode to look like a real painting.Tv mode: the picture quality with 4K looks better than my older Samsung 4K tv. Because of the matte finish there is zero glare where it had some glare on my old tv in the same spot. The Samsung software is harder to use than on my old Samsung tv but manageable. Some settings are difficult to find, and if a cable gets unplugged, you have to re-teach it what you have. It seems to lose settings easy when things get unplugged and doesn’t find them automatically again as my other Samsung tv does.White Solar remote: so the solar feature simply does not work. Even leaving it in full sun for several hours makes no difference. Many other folks report this problem too. Thankfully you can charge it with a usb c connector (not provided) if you have one. I am able to get the remote to control my tv, surround sound via Denon receiver, my Xfinity cable box and my AppleTV device. So it’s great to be using one remote for everything. However, because the remote has so few buttons, it can take a series of 5 or 6 presses to get to certain menus on my cable box dvr (like to see my recorded shows). It’s doable but difficult. There just isn’t a good simple option for quickly getting to some cable tv menus.Overall a great product if not a bit on the expensive side. If you can live with the software flaws, you will be happy with the end result. Who knows, perhaps a software update in the future could make them better. I still recommend this TV.

I bought this TV to replace a 2016 model Samsung TV that I loved. This one is superior in picture quality in almost every way – super bright, very sharp, etc. That being said, I have some issues with it that make me dissatisfied enough to knock off a star.I use this TV for multiple purposes. We have a cable box but almost never use it, we pretty much stream everything. In addition to streaming, I also use it for gaming on a PS4 and PS5, and as a monitor for my media PC. I would say I mostly use the PC for streaming rather than the apps on the TV, more on that below. Here are the things I don’t like about it:- The UI is trash. Straight up hot garbage. My last Samsung TV had an excellent, snappy menu. The menu on this TV is busy, limited in terms of customization, has ads on it that I can’t get rid of, and has a whole separate menu for gaming systems. It doesn’t allow adding gaming systems to the quick access on the main menu screen (or at least I haven’t been able to get it to do this) which means in order to switch inputs to the gaming consoles, I need to do a bunch of navigating with the remote. It’s frustrating.- The settings are a nightmare. A lot of the “expert settings” for picture are grayed out and not accessible even if you turn off all of the preset options. This drives me insane. I also want to be able to set different picture settings for the various inputs, and this TV doesn’t want to let me do that.- The screen is very bright, so this is a good TV if you have it in a room with a lot of light. However, despite the marketing for this TV saying that it has very precise light and dark areas, it’s not as precise as it could be. If you’re like me and spent your 20s destroying your hearing in loud bars with punk bands playing 5 feet from your face, and now need subtitles in order to understand wtf people are saying, you’ll notice that the subtitles are absurdly bright, and the light from the subtitles makes the screen around them too bright. This is a very distracting annoyance. It’s only bothersome if I use the streaming apps on the TV, so I mostly stream content through desktop apps on my media PC.- This is nitpicking, but I hate the stand. It has a single stand in the middle, which doesn’t distribute the weight as well as having legs on each side of the TV. I have a 65″ and this thing is super heavy. My TV stand is rated for up to a 65″ and this TV is heavy enough that the thick wooden top of the stand is bowing in the middle from the weight of it.So, yeah. It’s fine. It’s a TV. It does what it’s supposed to despite some UI frustrations and the subtitle issue. My plan is to deal with this TV for a couple years, then probably upgrade to an OLED. I’m usually a fan of Samsung products, but I’m going to wait until they make some changes to the UI to upgrade, and will likely go test drive a new TV at a big box store so I can see the functionality before I commit.

I gave it 4 stars as it’s a fantastic quality tv. 120hz & 4K is really a great combo. Movies are surreal as are so clear and hi res. Had to get use to that.WIFI connectivity seems pretty good on my 5mhz band. Only buffering is really due to either too many family members on my network or channel issues on streaming content. However, Samsung needs to get a better guide for use. Very cumbersome to add channels and does not have app availability like a Roku. It’s “atmospheric” screen saver is just awful as are most of the other options. Forget surfing the internet. Too cumbersome and quality is very lacking on the 3rd party apps I’ve found. Only other option I see is casting, but why did I buy this tv if I have to cast? Casting is in low res as far as I’ve found so not a great option.Voice recognition is worthless and doesn’t seem to understand much in the way of commands and finding stuff. Kinda like trying to get Siri to understand what you’re looking for. I’ve opted to use Google Assistant instead, but we all know what Google does with your personal use info, don’t we?System doesn’t shut down apps completely which can be a problem when they don’t respond from not exiting appropriately. Have to run Samsung’s Device Care to shut everything down once in a while, which was not easy to find. Also defaults to an annoying free tv app they push. I don’t really care to start up and see “That Girl” reruns. “But Donald…!” But really, give me an option.System in my opinion needs a complete overhaul. After this I’m not sure I’d buy another internet ready tv again. Cause this one’s is not ready. Hopefully it can be updated more in the future as some tv’s can’t be upgraded.Hopefully Samsung will come up with an update better than this. Else I’ll probably be hooking up to my Roku in the future for easier use and better features. The system should be a whole lot better for the price.

THE GOOD1) Brightness is out of this world and HDR videos really pop.2) Black levels great for non-OLED, but still a bit of halo effect and blooming off-angle3) Form factor is pretty slim and flat on the back. Circuit box is a separate unit which can be hidden behind a wall or cabinet.4) Good gaming features.THE BAD1) Color calibration out of the box is poor, but can be fixed with the right combination of settings.2) Some minor dirty screen effect on light backgrounds.3) The glossy screen really reflects light. I can always see the reflection of my window.4) Odd mechanical click when turning TV on, like the tube TVs of old.5) Defaults to Samsung TV Plus (or antenna if TV plus is disabled) on bootup, and I’ve found no way to change it.6) Remote frustrating to use. Awkward, small, cheap-feeling buttons prone to accidental presses at slightest graze. App specific buttons not customizable.7) Decent sound for TV speakers, but speakers buzz and rattle at certain frequenciesTHE UGLY1) Interface slow and laggy with stutters and delays in both visual and audio cues.2) Ads on homescreen; can be reduced with hidden settings, but not eliminated.3) Bugs in several apps cause video to lag audio after a while. Independent of the audio delay setting. Seems to be TV software issue, not app issue.4) Eventually, TV will lose connection and just spins indefinitely when loading video. At that point, have to do a soft reboot.5) Bug if soundbar connected. TV will switch back to TV speakers at random. Frequently happens.BOTTOM LINEFor this kind of money, the level of software issues and bugs is inexcusable. What’s crazy is, if they had used Google TV or Roku, this would likely be 5 stars. And yes, I understand that I can just buy a separate box, but I shouldn’t have to do that at this price. For picture quality snobs, this and QD-OLED are the ones to get, but if not, I’d go for something with good software and pay 1/3 the price.

My first outdoor TV, and glad I purchased this Samsung Terrace. It is in a partially covered area and does receive some direct sunlight. Super bright even when there is direct sunlight and no problems viewing the picture. I did purchase the Samsung Mount, Samsung Soundbar and Terrace cover. All of these components work extremely well with each other.

The picture is really amazing. Video games look incredible on this display. Textures in skin and fabrics are so much more detailed than in other 4K displays I am used to. It really is worth the expense to see images with this much resolution. The two downsides I have experienced so far are #1 The remote control. It is not intuitive and obvious how to switch video inputs. A dedicated source selection button would have been nice. #2 The internal sound system inside the TV pales in comparison to an external one. While this is not a surprise, I would rather see a lower price point than to pay for Samsung’s over-hyped, under-delivered idea with their onboard sound.All-in-all we are very happy with the TV

We got it I believe a week to 10 days after we ordered it, which was fine because we had no urgent need. The price was great and was even slightly better than the Best store we all know about. That store’s stock was very limited, and I would have had to drive over 50 miles to get one, so it made buying it on Amazon a near no brainer. I didn’t even have to think about how to load it in my SUV. We have had it for a couple months now, and it is exactly as expected. It has great sound quality, but not great sound volume for larger rooms. We bought the lower end surround sound system to try because we got such a great deal. That was not a wise decision, because it really did not add much to what the TV already offered. If you want to add surround sound, I suggest that you make the same quality investment as you did on your TV. This TV will perform just fine on its own until you can afford a great sound upgrade.

Review for SAMSUNG 55-Inch Class Neo QLED 4K UHD QN90A Series (Note: I was actually shipped a QN90B Series. It turns out this is the “newer” model, so I think that’s fine. Online reviews say they are identical, with the newer model usually fetching a higher price.)I hate to knit-pick, but after only 3 days of operation this TV already has a bad pixel. I first noticed it when my computer’s screen saver was running. It looks like the “back-light blocking” for this pixel has failed. If the pixel is supposed to be black or grey scale, the back-light from nearby lit pixels bleeds through showing up as a bright green dot. (See pictures, bad pixel circled in red.) Ignore the lens flare and the blurriness in the pictures, that part is an artifact from my phone camera. The TV is actually crystal clear, ironically making that single green dot stand out even more. To make matters worse, it is almost dead center on the screen, so it is nearly impossible to ignore. It is right where my natural eye-line goes when viewing the screen. A little “northwest” of the center. That said, it only shows up when viewing the native TV menu screen and in “Game Mode”. It doesn’t show up in normal “cinema” mode for TV and movie viewing. The pixel also seems to render color and brightness properly when it’s “on”. The problem happens when it’s supposed to be “off” or in grey scale. If there’s no “on” pixels near it, it shows up black, proving this is a back-light bleed issue. I also tested this in an image editing program. If I paint the whole screen black, I can’t see the bad pixel. However if I paint any color within 6 inches of the bad pixel, it shows up as a green dot. If you are a casual TV user you might not even notice, but if you are into more advanced 4K features and gaming it would bother you.A single bad pixel probably isn’t worth the hassle of processing a return for this item. However it worries me. If one pixel is bad after only 3 days, how many will be bad in a couple weeks, a month, a year? I’ll keep a careful eye on it. If more bad pixels appear I will consider a return. Hopefully I will know if there’s a larger issue before time runs out.The LG LCD HDTV I replaced went several years before it got a bad pixel and it still only has one bad pixel to this day. I choose to replace it because I wanted to upgrade to 4K UHD/HDR.After paying so much for this TV I expected it to last longer. I purposely bought the QLED over OLED because it was supposed to last longer with no burn-in issues. I use this TV primarily as a work from home computer monitor, 4K gaming computer monitor, and for 4k streaming services (since you can’t get 4K from the PC apps.) For those who care, I’m using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card with aZeskit Maya 8K 48Gbps Certified Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable. (Purchased separately.) This setup is working well with no compatibility issues. That HDMI cable is double the bandwidth I need.Other than that single bad pixel, so far this TV is great. 4K picture is crystal clear and the HDR color is awesome. Colors are bright and blacks are black. When watching a 4K movie, the people are so real looking that you see them as the actors instead of the characters they are playing. In other words, it makes it look like real life and not a movie. Not that I’m complaining. I’m sure I’ll get used to it eventually. I’m just blown away by the clarity of 4K on this TV. To be fair, this is my first 4K TV, so I don’t have anything to compare it with. For what it’s worth, I love it.As noted by other reviews, the surface of the TV screen is very reflective. Any light source in the room will be mirrored on the screen. This is not an issue for me, as I prefer to view the TV in a dimly lit or dark room. If this is something that bothers you, I’m not sure what to say. This has been an issue with TVs for decades and I’m not sure there’s a manufacturing solution for it. If you use a bright room, a TV like this is probably your best bet due to it’s brightness capabilities. It’s really bright. (Or can be with the right settings.)The remote control is very minimalistic and small compared to my previous remote. It takes some getting used to. That said, it does everything it needs to do and takes up less space. Your only worry might be accidentally loosing it. It has a solar cell charger and a USB-C charge port. Remote was fully charged out of the box, so I haven’t charged it yet.I don’t use the onboard sound, so I can’t review that. When streaming via the TV, I use the HDMI eARC (Audio Return Channel) to my 7.1 surround sound system. When using my computer, I use the optical S/PDIF DIgital Audio port to connect the computer directly to the 7.1 surround sound system. Directly connecting to the external sound system provides the best quality, with the minor annoyance of having to select the input mode when switching between computer output and TV output.I haven’t tested the wireless connection. For best streaming throughput, I plug the internet cable directly into the LAN port on the TV. The streaming experience overall has been good. Sometimes it will drop below 4K for a second or two, but I blame that on the internet connection and not the TV.I don’t use voice commands and have that feature turned off. I won’t get into my reasons, but I’m a computer programmer and let’s just say I know how that stuff works. The remote is easy enough to navigate to what you want.Initial setup was very easy and basically plug-and-play. There are eight screws for the display stand, all the same size. This model is on the heavier side. I was able to lift it alone, but a team lift would be optimal. The TV will auto-detect what kind of devices you have connected and automatically do what it needs to do. There is an initial start up wizard that asks you a few questions and downloads a software update. You’ll need the remote and an internet connection to complete this task. It will ask you to optionally login to your Samsung support account to register the device. You might want to set up that account ahead of time. If not you can skip that step. Some reviewers have reported a thin protective film that needs to be removed. My model did not come with that.

So first of i apologize for this long read, but if youre here to contemplate buying a cheap vizeo or and even more exoensive higher end tv like I was, then i hope this can give u some persoective in making your decision, if you’ve done any shopping around for samaung tvs, you know that this is more of the entry way into the nicer samsung displays. With that being said, after having it for a few months, streaming, casting, listening to music, and playing ps4 and switch. I must say, it’s an incredible TV. I chose to go samsung as I’ve always been a samsung fan, but also because even though you can get a much cheaper large display 4k vizio/tlc/hisence. The problem with those, as I’ve experienced in the past is that they highly cheapest on the processor as the user interface is frustrating slow. Apps fail to load, Netflix finally starts up by the time your nexfl8x and xhill girl needs to go home, internet connection is crap, pixels die in a few months if they didnt already arrive dead, tv freezes as youre trying to put on your favorite streaming app and videos consistently buffer, and the color accurancy is ok at best, and it’s a shot in the dark whether or not you’re going to recieve a bad apple that will break down in a few months. What I love about this TV is that everything seems quite snappy and quick. Setup was simple through the samsung smart things phone app. Internet seems fast, you can use your phone as a keyboard and remote through the smart things app as well as lunch apps and project your phone and pc screen wirelessly. The picture quality is great even though it’s using the lite Quantum upscale 4k processor unlike the bigger bothers of the line, however even when watching a 1080p movie, the upscaling does seem to make it much more detailed and higj res. The TV seems smart enough to always know what input I want it in as I turn on different entertainment systems. The user interface in my opinion is pretty straight forward, and you get free access to samsung tv + which provides a whole bunch of free channels, and for someone who hasn’t had cable TV in the last decade or so, it’s a nice touch. You also get access to all the typical smart TV apps like Netflix, Disney, hulu, prime, funimation, HBO, youtube, crackle, tubi, apple tv, plex, pandora, AMC, spotify, news apps and a browser and a bunchnof others ive yet to install. But bear in mind this is not a full fledged android tv, so apps are plentiful but limited for sure. However I’m surprised that even with the inclusion of Google assistant, I’m unable to cast whatever I want to the TV, besides YouTube and Netflix and other apps that are already included with casting capabilities on the tv, so I had to get a chrome cast to cast my own things…. or maybe im just dumb and iverlooked something. One cool thing though is if u have an android (not sure about iphone), you can control almost everything from the smart things app and project your phone onto the screen and even have multiple things on the screen at a time including your ohine screen as you watch netflix to the other side. For ios users apple airplay is built in. And the integrated alexa/Google assistant/smartthings can be used to control any smart devices u have in your home – smartt lights, robot vaccums, nest thermostats, smart switches and all other alexa/google assistant stuff which is great. As well as getting your phone notifications to show on the tv. And if u have other smart speakers, those can be used control the tv as well. Now unfortunately for some of the bad. First of all is it’s not as pixel clear and bright as it’s more expensive order brothers. The viewing radius is good but not great, But by setting the display to dynamic or vivid and the brightness slightly up, it’s honestly plenty bright and colorful and clear for me. Second is the built in speakers are okay…. I mean they’re not horrible, and can definitely be enjoyable in a smaller area, but there’s next to no bass, and voices are a little more pitchy than they should be, so a decent sound bar with a sub will go a long way. Personally i got the samsung HW-650 with DTS virtual x and the included sub woofer for not that much money and it basically as close to a home movie theatre experience now. My least favorite things though is that it only has 3 hdmi inputs, 1 of which is an hdmi eARC port that I use for my sound bar, which leaves me with just 2 hdmi ports. Perhaps thats more than enough for you, but with a few gaming systems and a sound bar ive already ran through all of them, however you can find high quality cheap hdmi port splitters right here on Amazon so no big deal but still, and luckily my Samsung soundbar has an extra hdmi port that can be accessed through the TV. My last and final gripe I should say is the remote. At first I actually really liked how small and simple and compact it is, it even can charge through solar or USB c. But overtime youll realize that sometimes having more buttons is better as you just end up having to click more buttons to get things done, like changing the input source, opening the settings, finding your apps, and typing in channel numbers. though the alexa/Google assistant functionality does fill in some gaps for sure.Overall I’m thrilled I went with this model despite being able to afford the higher end ones. Sure go for it if you wish, but i would say this will surely suffice you, and you might save enough money to get an even larger tv or better sound system, maybe even a second tv for your room or something.Last thing, I saw some comments about the refresh rate of this tv being just 60hz, however according to the official samsung listing of this exact model, it should be 120hz. I’ve yet to plug in my how powered gaming pc to test this limit for myself, but just food for thought

I will not be reviewing the features since that is well covered. I will be reviewing the viewing experience. All I can say is this TV is absolutely stunning. It arrived in okay condition. The delivery guy dropped one corner of the TV because he did not use his assistant when taking it off the truck. I was concerned and told him to which he denied it but i told him it was caught on my outdoor camera so that was how I knew. I asked him to make notes of it but i’m not sure he did. The TV weighs about 70 lbs so it will be good to have some help setting it up. Be sure to read ahead and follow the directions and suggestions as the TV is also very thin. It turns out that drop did cause a minor bit of damage. The speakers in the back of the TV shifted but I was able to gently coax them back into place and they work just fine.Set up was rather easy. It connected to our Sony receiver and Apple TV 4K just fine. It takes a while to get all the programs registered. The remote is really nice and it even has a solar panel for charging on the backside which is a brilliant engineering idea. The menus are easy to navigate. The option for the HDMI connection for the Apple TV automatically pops up so it’s easy to select. The picture itself is beyond stunning. Granted, there really isn’t much 8K video to watch at the moment. I did find some 8K content on YouTube and I am blown away by how incredible it is. It’s seriously like being in person. In fact, especially on people’s faces, there’s too much detail. It does take some getting used to but we adjusted quickly and love it.If you can afford bigger, get it. We have the 65″ and it’s plenty big for where we have the TV but if we had a bigger room and it was in our budget, bigger would be a no-brainer.Believe the hype. It’s amazing. If you’re still not sure head down to a local big box store and look at it in person but remember it’s probably showing 4K and not 8K. You’ll be blown away, too.

A pretty okay upgrade, but in some ways not really better than my last Samsung TV with pseudo HDR. It occasionally gets stuck pixels that fix themselves and it’s a larger screen so I HAVE to sit further back or pixelation is noticeable around the edges of text or menus. The judder is also more pronounced and I can’t make out whether it’s because it has similar processing power, but due to the Smart Features and HDR it can’t keep up or because it’s a larger screen and it’s just more noticeable. Another step up and you get the super smooth motion from Samsung, I’ve seen it in my family’s tvs, so I’m guessing it’s 60hz on all but one input, but I can’t be fully certain aside from being allowed to select 120hz 1440p on my PC. That port is also the only port that seems to properly switch to 50hz in my Apple TV when watching PAL content. Otherwise it’ll show 60, even if it’s compensating. Cool thing about 120hz mode is no screen tearing in games, even when the frame rate isn’t over 60fps without Freesync. After a bit of fiddling, I find setting it to game mode is the only thing that allows it to match content frame rate and thus eliminates or reduces judder. It’ll still get bright and it seems to handle high dimming better than the regular mode. With game mode and judder reduction it can still be smooth, frame blur can also be set to something less than max without introducing more tearing.Where my old TV was sometimes stunning, this is often stunning aside from the judder. Really does take it to the next level being a lot brighter and darker aside from shows like Sabrina that are way too dark even on my OLED iPhone. Bumping up the color saturation basically matches OLED, but the gradients on OLED are a bit better, so bokeh looks more natural there. One thing I like and don’t like are the smart features. Apps included actually outperform my Apple TV 4K first generation in image processing, but the apps themselves don’t use Airplay 2 to use apps like a remote to control with any Apple device. Alexa is cool and has more features than Google, but she’s not nearly as intelligent. It all feels convoluted and imperfect. Not a Fire TV, not Android TV. No Siri. Samsung keeps getting closer to the perfect TV, but uses their leverage to push their own ecosystem, but I can respect that. That’s the flaw with the remote. I keep pressing Amazon Prime instead of Home and TV Plus instead of Play. I like that’s it’s rechargeable and hands free capable, but it’s got too much stuff I’ll never use. And what’s the deal with the split view that can only watch YouTube or TV plus? When is that ever going to be necessary? If I could browse the web or use my pc while using my Apple TV or even let you use X-ray while watching Amazon Prime I’d use it. Now it’s just pointless. Even video calling while watching TV would have been useful. It works with Airplay, so maybe when universal controls is released on Macs and iPads will make it useful for me.Big debate is whether I want to replace my TV as often or more often than an iPhone if OLEDs really only last a bit past your extended warranty. As it stands, needing to adjust so many settings is annoying. Instead of pushing the TV past it’s limits, let it do what it does the best. Maybe in a few years we can have 4K 1080p 4-way splitscreen. Now I’d settle for a default setting that detects source frame rate and better HD upscaling, perhaps using AI.

I don’t normally write product reviews, mainly because most things are subjective to individual taste and experience. Keep in mind that your experience may not be the same as mine, simply because people see things differently due to eyesight and so on. In my opinion, this is a very good quality television. Keeping in mind I purchased it less than a month ago and received it on September 11th 2021. I researched 55″ TVs for approximately two weeks before settling on this one. I visited a number of retailer websites such as Target, Best Buy, Walmart and of course Amazon. I read many reviews on various brands and models of TVs of this size, Sony, Sony Bravia, LG, TCL, Samsung, Vizio, etc. I also compared features and specifications on the models as I began to narrow my search. I also visited the Samsung wesite to research this particular television. I am not going to go into a bunch of details as you can and should do your own research and comparisons. I also visited several independent testing and review websites such as CNET. I viewed a few YouTube comparison videos as well..mainly between QLED and OLED. I came very, very close to purchasing a LG OLED type television but in the end decided against that type due to the problem of ghosting and burn in that people experienced with the OLED type televisions. I saw this in some YouTube videos of sets that had been tested over certain periods of time. Also, comparisons in how pure black levels were and backlight blooming, etc. The blooming and haloing (white against black) seems to be a big complaint people have of backlit led type televisions and not having pure blacks. The OLED type televisions claim to have the blackest black and no backlight blooming, as they have no backlighting. The led pixels are self lit so they themselves provide the light and color. Therefore, if the scene is black the pixel is off, so you can’t get any blacker than that. However, as mentioned before, there is the risk of image ghosting and screen burn in. Especially where tv station logos and banners are present in a particular area of the screen for long periods of time. I received the television delivered right into my living room by Amazon. The box was in great condition so I wasn’t terribly worried about shipping damage. The box was designed for ease of unpacking. Simply follow the directions. Basically, you just cut the banding, then lift the box off over the television. The assembly and setup instructions are right on top. There is a box base and foam support for the TV, so the TV should just stand on it’s own. Mine did. Then you will lift the tv out of the box base and lay it on it’s face so the stand can be mounted. I laid it on my bed. The stand comes in two pieces that will be put together using four provided screws, then the stand will be mounted to the television using four provided screws. I was a bit concerned with the center pedestal type stand, when shopping for this tv but don’t worry, the main part of the stand is constructed of a quite substantial and weighty metal. There was a protective plastic film on my television’s screen and bezel that will carefully need to be removed. Then follow the onscreen step by step directions to set up the television, Wi-Fi and Apps that you may have (Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Hulu, Disney, ect.). The remote control requires some getting used to. It is not a conventional remote at all. I was able to navigate the setup fairly easy with the remote but in actually controlling the tv in daily use, I had to later visit the E-manual for more specifics. It is a smallish remote that fits well in your hand as opposed to the big clunky ones we’ve all had for years, with a button for every function. This remote has some buttons that have multiple uses. The saving grace, if there is one, is the fact that many things can be achieved through accessing of the onscreen Home display using the remotes “home button”. I deducted a star for the remote. On the positive side, it does not use batteries. It has a solar charging panel on the back and also can use a usb charger like a cell phone (charger not included). It does seem to last quite well without having to be recharged. I have to say that the television had a beautiful picture right out of the box. It has one of the brightest screens I personally have ever seen. I actually had to go into the settings and turn the brightness down a bit for my taste. It also has bright, vivid but natural colors. Like most modern televisions there are several preset screen setups to choose from or you can adjust everything to your own taste. I will say that this tv has the brightest whites and blackest blacks I’ve ever seen on this type of screen. Where there are black bars on the sides or top and bottom of the screen for various aspect ratios, the black bars are pure jet black. I have not witnessed any haloing or backlight blooming so far. I had a Samsung curved panel UHD television previously and these things were clearly visible on it. The audio on this TV is exceptional in my opinion for a flat panel television. It has several speakers …whatever the size but they do a great job. I have no where near maxed out the volume. I believe the specifications stated that this TV has 60 watts of power for the audio. I have no need of a sound bar with this one. I do use an audio/ video system but I only like to use it for theater sound when watching movies, concerts, ect. I don’t like to have to use it for normal tv viewing and I don’t have to with this set. This television is a bit more expensive than others out there but keep in mind that this television’s screen has the latest technology built into it. I hope this helps and I do generally respond to Amazon questions if you have one that I can answer. Good Luck!

This TV is amazing, AMAZING!First I purchased the Samsung 65” 4K QLED for my bedroom, several months ago and absolutely love it so, I just bought the Same Samsung 4K QLED but, in 75”, for my LivingRoom. This TV is not only HUGE but, the picture is just so incredible that I would have to say,Mind Blown, Mic Drop.Who thought we’d own TV’s of this size in our homes when, growing up, if you had a 26” Sony, you were the coolest family on the block.I can’t believe how truly affordable these are, yes, I caught both on sale plus, I have 2 Samsung Sound Bars with Subs for each and I’m truly in heaven, again Mind Blowing Picture Size and Unreal 4K Quality in QLED and the Sound with the Soundbar with Sub is just a wonderful, movie theater-ish experience that is a “must have” in today’s world of true Home Theater.Just a side note, since this is turning into. Novel, I plan to upgrade both my Soundbars and Subs to the Klipsch 600 w/surround speakers as soon as I catch a sale (never listen to these speakers at a store as it will make you so unhappy when you listen to what you already have or anything else and honestly, I was so super happy with the sound from my Samsung Soundbar setup).Damn Klipsch for being the Best Sound and the Big Electronics Store for allowing me to hear them, even though I specifically went to that store with the sole intention of hearing the Klipsch system before I would buy them from Amazon. There’s a Huge Difference, I mean Huge Difference from UHD (which I had in the 65” and replaced with a 65” QLED) and QLED, which you see immediately and if you can spend the extra bucks to get QLED, you’ll never regret it, I still can’t believe the difference as I had both a 65” UHD & 65” QLED in my home at the same time and it drove me crazy so, I had to get another QLED ergo this 75” QLED.I bought the 3 year warranty and before you call me a fool/sucker, I will tell you exactly why it’s so very much worth it.What no one tells you (yet you can easily find out if you do a little research) all these Flat Screen TV are considered “Disposable”, to be replaced every 5-7 years as there’s little to near nothing that is fixable or worth the money to fix, that’s a biggie.I actually sold TV’s and other electronics a very long time ago and back then it was mostly a total scam but, not now.I’ve had 2 Flat Screens go out on me in the last 6 years and prices back then were much much higher. My 65” 1080P highest HiDef TV at the time (only $3,000.00 for a 42” LED), well it blew out, died, had a seizure, something or other and it was just out of warranty by only 3 months (of course).I tried everything, called everyone, started off really nice, tried bribing people and eventually went to yelling, cursing hey, Im a New Yorker (that’s a Nu Yawka who lived On Lawn Guyland okay😎lol) and got nowhere, nothing Fougeddabouddit. Finally I was offering to pay a repairman out of pocket but, he told me it just wasn’t worth it.My High Definition LCD Flat Screen went out with the trash (you don’t want to tell the wife that story because you know she was against it, never needed or wanted a big TV in “Her House! we’ll get back to “Her House” later”.I replaced that TV with a 65” 4K UHD TV but, this time I bought the 3 year warranty and wouldn’t you know it, at the very beginning of the second year(isn’t it funny how everything always works great until 12 seconds after the warranty runs out), the screen started to really mess up, there were streaks of light, bright dots and stars, it was just too annoying to watch, especially since our TV’s are now a major part of the home decor. In today’s living room, it’s become the key focal point and the main attraction for which the TV is front and center, then we adjust all the furniture around it.Of course I called the Extended Warranty Company btw & fyi a little heads up so it’ll make sense or not, I’m a New Yorker so, I was already for a fight before anything started, it’s always going to be something and then an argument.I explained the problem bla bla bla and the service rep explained that I was out of the manufacturer’s warranty so, I was correct to contact them but, this was a problem that they were already very familiar with and unfortunately it’s not a fixable problem.Okay, Here we go, my blood pressure is already rising as I’m waiting to find out how I was scammed.First the Service Rep apologized for it not being a repairable problem and immediately asked when the could Schedule the appointment to pick up my broken TV and bring me a Brand New One, a time that would be convenient for me.Wait, did I hear that correctly, what’s the catch?I asked he to repeat what he said and also to let me know how much out of pocket it was going to cost me for a New TV, that I think he just said, they are bringing me to replace my 2 years old broken TV?Long story short, they delivered a Newer Model as mine was discontinued, they apologized again (poor me they upgraded my broken TV for a newer model, I think I’ll live) and it cost me absolutely zip, zero, zilc, nada, NOTHING!!!I couldn’t wait to tell the Wife this story as I am going to exaggerate, embellish and make up a story of how I had to fight them to get this Newer Model and I wasn’t going to pay them a penny (come on, every guy does this, we all want to be the hero in our wives eyes). It didn’t matter because during this whole fiasco, it turned out the wife was defective too and like she said, the TV was my idea so, I got the New Newer TV for free all for myself and she didn’t get it (of course she got the House, Cars, the Dogs, basically everything but, the TV and Almost All Of My Money for the next too many years, that’s a divorce in New York, it’s all about the ladies and I’m okay with that but, this is about a TV & the Extended Warranty and I got both!!!).The Moral of this Looong Story,The Samsung QLED is a wonderful thing to have in your house, just incredible, nothing comes close (there’s the 8K, it’s better but, if you had the big bucks that 8K TV’s go for, why would you still be reading this?) plus, if you add a Soundbar and Sub, now or later, Chances are you are going to love watching movies at home more than going out, driving to the theater, looking for parking, waiting online to pay ridiculous ticket prices just before you get robbed at the snack bar and don’t forget the super large cup of ice with a splash of soda and your $6.00 stale candy bar , garbage pail of the saltiest popcorn that’s guaranteed to get you the new high score on the free CVS Blood Pressure Machine, don’t forget your “Fake Butter Flavoring”, now you’re already to sit with a bunch noisy nosey of strangers, trying to calculate how the bill for the overpriced snacks were more than the overpriced tickets yet, still unable to stop thinking about why your feet are stuck to those gross floors.Hey, some people just love that theater experience,I think a nice bright 4K QLED in my own hone with a nice sound system, my couch, my new future ex at my side, our own fresh junk food, no strangers annoying us and the best part,Pause for a quick bathroom break plus,Rewind anything you didn’t hear or want to see it again.I will pick Home Theater with my75” Samsung QLED every time (okay some movies should be seen in a theater but, that’s for you to decide, I’m staying home!)Five Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️2 Thumbs up 👍 👍and a whole bunch ofSmileys 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

Short VersionThe PlayStation 5 has many enhancements and advantages over the PlayStation 4, but you need a TV or monitor capable of displaying them–this TV does.Long VersionThe PlayStation 5 can run games in 4K resolution at 120 FPS, but most mid-range 4K TVs only have a native 60 Hz refresh rate, meaning they cannot display games any higher than 60 FPS (Hz = FPS = frame rate). Most brands have a “made up” frame rate with an impressive-sounding name like “motion rate” or “cinerate” or some nonsense like that followed by an “misleading” number (usually at least TWICE the native refresh rate). This is because the TV’s image processing will by default add extra frames between the source frames to solve technical issues like flicker, the tendency for high frame rates to induce motion sickness, low frame rate of the video source, etc. This isn’t terrible for television or films. It arguably improves the viewing experience. But for video games that can display high refresh rates, it is a problem. If your TV is rated “motion rate 120” your game console can only output 60 FPS to the TV. The TV may process it and insert extra frames, but you won’t get the true 120 FPS the console can provide. What you will get is 60 FPS that is then adulterated by the TV’s image processing. This may even introduce lag to the image, putting the actual game and the display oh-so-slightly out of sync. If you’re paying $500 for a game console, you’re wasting all of its high-tech, modern advantages by playing on a 60 Hz TV, even if the TV has a “motion rate” of 120 or higher. You could have skipped the hassle and price of upgrading the game console. All of this is to say, unless your TV’s refresh rate is listed as “native 120 Hz” or higher you will not get 120 FPS from a game console. Having the refresh rate described as “motion rate X” is a clue that this will not display video games optimally. This TV is 120 Hz.

The media could not be loaded. In my search for a mid-range 4k Smart TV, I narrowed my preference in order to: 65″ LG UN8500, 55″ TCL 6 Series, and 55″ SS Q6DT. I naturally compared in detail each Brands Features, Specs, Technologies, Smart Platform, and ultimately for my personal preference, I choose to trade down a superior TV Video Experience for a Good TV Experience with integrated Apple Airplay and Google Cast. Why? Because I’m a 60+ yr old cable cord-cutter and I find myself using several Smart Apps and Websites where its convenient to Cast Sporting events via by Mobile Phone, Laptop, and/or utilize the built in SS Tizen APPs. Let me share briefly the Pro-n-Con of each TV consideration.(1) LG 65″ UN8500 at $699 – My first preference was this 4k LED “Back Light” Panel, 120 Hz Refresh Rate, HDR Dolby Vision, and 2.1 + 2.0 HDMI slots. Great for basic Gamers too and Sport viewing. Cons were; 65″ was too large for my Living Room area and TV stand (at 48″ wide). For TV over 55″, LG needs to follow SS design where the TV stand has at least 2-3 adjustable width settings. Also, only 1 retailer discounted the SRP from $699 to $629 very late in December.(2) TCL 55″ 6 Series at $649.99 – Wow nearly all recognizable Product Review sources choose this model as the best TV under $1000 and its hard to disagree. It features a 4K “Mini Back Light” Q-LED Panel, 120 Hz Refresh Rate, Dolby Vision, and Roku OS Smart TV platform. I didn’t buy this model because it was Out-of-Stock everywhere including Amazon. I inquired at a Big Box Electronic Retail Store who located a few inventory in their DC center. But, inexplicably despite their Advertising, they could not Deliver the TV to my Home nor the local Retail Store, if fact, they wanted me to drive 30-40 minutes each way to pick it up at their DC center. I said “Heck NO” or at least something like that, my vehicle didn’t have the height to stand the TV Box upright as recommended to avoid damaging the screen during transportation.(3) SS 55″ Q60T at $699 – Ok so I downsized to this 4K “Edge Light” Q-LED TV, with basic 60 Hz Refresh Rate, HDR 10+, and 2.0 HDMI , since I am not a video gamer the Refresh Rate + Dolby Vision + HDMI 2.1 is not important, plus I not big in watch Movies but primarily Live Sports and Smart Apps. If I’m correct, only the LG and SS had built-in Apply Air Play and Google Cast that allowed me the option to use my Smart Phone Apps or Laptop (APP or Free Sporting Website) the option to Cast to the TV. With the Casting option I can set the TV to 2 Screens (1 for Casting and 1 for Regular TV channels). By the way, as a cord cutter and using a standard 60 mile range indoor antenna, I receive over 86 DTV Air Channels and 165 SS TV Plus Channels Free including all the local network channels. The Digital Tuner and Processor now available in the newer 4k TV are far more advance then previous LCD and based 2k LED versions. I experience excellent Air reception. Lastly, I was able to buy this TV on Amazon promotion at $599 plus Free in-home delivery.

I purchased the 65″ version to be used in my living room for PC gaming and streaming movies/shows. I picked this TV because has HDMI 2.1 on port 4 and supports 120hz 4K. There are very few sets that are out there currently which have this that actually works as intended. Many advertise it but if you read reviews you will find that it won’t be supported until a future firmware update. I also picked this over OLED because of the risk of screen burn. I spend hours every day with static elements on my screen and will not risk screen burning at this price point. This TV also supports variable refresh rate and is AMD Freesync compatible. It comes with the one connect box which is nice. This is essentially a connection box that you hook all of your devices to instead of connecting a bunch of cable directly to the TV. It is a really nice feature and helps cut down on cable clutter behind the TV. It has 4 HDMI ports. Port 4 is the all important HDMI 2.1 for gaming. You will need to purchase your own HDMI cables. Make sure to get a HDMI 2.1 to take advantage of the gaming features. It came with a wall mount which I have not used. It seems to be a nice piece of hardware. Unfortunately I cannot wall mount as I am renting. Also note that the 65″ has two feet and not a single pedestal stand. The product picture and dimension info say it has a single pedestal stand which is incorrect. I had to purchase a new TV stand since the feet are about 48″ apart and would not fit on my old TV stand. The picture is bright and vibrant. It works quite well for 4k gaming. I set up the TV and did the firmware updates. I can confirm that the AMD Freesync and variable refresh rate do work when the TV is in gaming mode. When not in gaming mode I am able to get a nice crisp 60 fps which looks quite nice as well. I have noticed in some titles the gaming mode can cause a slight flicker, I am not sure if further firmware tweaks are needed or if it an issue with my video card or the game itself. Nobody in my household noticed the flicker but me, so it may not be an issue for everyone. Update: The flicker encountered was due to the game itself. I have played several games with the gaming mode on and it only happens in one specific game. The picture is bright and can be seen in bright daylight or at night. Blacks are good. I have not noticed the blooming or picture inconsistency noted in reviews for the previous model. I am well pleased by the picture and with changing the settings for color I am sure the picture can be adjusted to satisfy most tastes. I found colors to be quite accurate out of the box and have left the settings at factory after playing around. It does upscale to 4K and seems to do a good job of that. The screen seems to handle glare pretty well and has a pretty wide viewing angle. I have to move to the side to a fairly sharp angle before I notice a change in picture quality.Update 4/12/21: I recommend those using a PC as the main video source for streaming make sure that Windows HDR is off. With Windows HDR turned on my streaming picture quality was quite terrible. I turned Windows HDR off again and noticed that my streaming video quality improved. For some reason the Windows HDR just does not seem to work well. The TV has several smart features. The only one I have used is the firmware update. Otherwise I leave it disconnected from the internet as the TV is a glorified computer monitor. One annoyance is that since I do leave it off the internet the TV frequently tries to prompt me to connect it to the internet. I guess Samsung really wants your TV online for some reason. Internet connection was not required to set the TV up. You can do firmware updates via USB if you really want to keep it off network at all times. It has the usual major streaming apps ans Samsung has some free streaming content available. I do not use these features as my computer is much better than any TV app for streaming content. It also has an “art” screen saver type mode that you can download content to your taste (some of which is paid) and I believe you can use the USB to use your own photos in this as well. The shipping company did a good job delivering and met all expectations. I would buy this again. I have docked a star due to the incorrect info and picture regarding the TV pedestal vs. feet and the fact that I have had the flickering issue when utilizing gaming mode. I will be testing this more in different gaming titles to try to identify if it is actually the TV, a software issue, or an issue with my video card.Updated to 5 star since the screen flicker was caused by a specific game.I will update this after more use. (Updated 4/4/21)New Update 4/28/21 – I am still really enjoying this TV. I have been using some of the on TV streaming apps (Disney and ESPN mostly) and find they are working great. They load much faster and work better than apps on older TV’s I have used. I am finding I really like the remote. Its slim and only has the buttons you need. Everyone that has seen this TV in my living room running games and 4K content has commented on how great it looks. I have no regrets buying this.New Update 6/7/21 – Roughly 400ish hours are on this screen at this point. I love this TV. It has improved the quality of the content I enjoy probably more so than upgrading my PC. Whether it is playing a game, watching a movie, or enjoying the fights on ESPN+ this does a great job. I would comment that I do not use the TV speakers and have my audio out coming from the optical from the One Connect Box and the Bose surround sounds great off of it. It was easy to set up and has been easy to use. I would give 6 stars at this point if possible.Update 10/13/21 – Everything is still just as good today as day one. I have countless hours on the screen now and I am still super happy.

We bought this to replace a 4 year-old Samsung TV whose picture was beginning to have problems. I don’t know if this is typical of flat-screen TV lifetimes, but the Sony Trinitron that “old” Samsung replaced was more than a decade old and still had an excellent picture.TL;DR: This is a very nice 43 inch television at a good [discounted] price, with some caveats that may or may not apply to most buyers.PROS:Excellent picture quality.Manual functions: finally, a flat TV one can turn on/off, change volume and channels when you can’t find your remote control. The controls are hidden and not easy to access, but at least they exist.Set up was quite easy.SURPRISE:This model has an “ambient mode” which we had thought was limited to those ultra-expensive wall-mounted Samsungs. It allows you to set the normally blank screen to any of a number of supplied images or your own photos. I have no idea what this will do to your electric bill if you use it, but once in a while it may be a nice treat.CONS:The ARC is assigned to HDMI-2. This is a problem for those of us with old DVRs that recognize only HDMI-1 and HDMI-2. The TV does have an optical input that you can use for, for example, a Sonos Beam. Why Samsung decided to make HDMI-2 rather than HDMI-3 the ARC option is beyond me, and I sincerely hope they change this in future models. The distance between the feet is 32.6″. We hoped it would fit on our stand which is 32.5″ wide. What’s 1/10 inch, right? Wrong. We forgot that these feet are very, very, very narrow. So, as we had to do with the 32″ inch model we bought earlier this year, we created extensions with heavy duty cardboard and have taped both the feet and the cardboard down to within an inch of their lives. We are hoping that between that and the earthquake straps, we have sufficiently secured the TV. Samsung informed us that the switch from a central base to these widely spaced feet was to allow people to put their external sound bars underneath the TV. (See Hints.) At the very least, they should have made the feet wider or made 3-point feet rather than 2-point feet. The Samsung Hub now has extremely tiny icons, presumably to fit more on the screen. They are very irritating. Our Xfinity icon is black. We can’t, apparently, move it to the first position on the left. So every time we turn the TV on, the pointer is on the Free TV icon and we inevitably overshoot the Xfinity icon when we move right. I honestly can see no reason at all for 1) the smaller icons or 2) the inability to focus the Hub on Xfinity, which is our primary channel.HINTS:When we first set up the TV, we couldn’t change cable channels with the remote. What happened? We had positioned our Sonos Beam in front of the TV. Wrong move. Samsung’s IR ( and its manual controls) are centrally located on the bottom of the TV. The Beam interrupted that signal. So we moved the Beam underneath the TV.After setting up the Beam with the Optical connector, we were unable to change the volume with the Samsung remote control. Solution (thank you Sonos help staff): scroll way, way, way over to the far right of Sources until you get to “Universal Remote”. Select it and choose the Home Theater Option. Tell it the model number (for the Beam, it is BEAM1US1BLK). Then Samsung will prompt you with a power test. This will not work with the Beam. However, that didn’t matter. We exited the set up function and our Samsung remote can now control the Optical volume. We’ve had the TV up and running for only a week and will update this post if we discover anything else we think might be useful.

I’ve only had the set for a day but spent quite a few hours checking it out. It took a while to decide to buy this set mainly because it was edge lit, no local dimming, and limited brightness (500 nits) but I decided to buy it anyway and am very glad I did. First of all, 500 Nits is nothing to sneeze at especially if you do all your viewing in a dim room – which I do.Turn off the ECO settings. It tends to dim the picture quite a bit so I have it turned off.First the good:The TV is very bright in standard mode and more than adequate in HDR.Screen brightness and colour is very uniform across the entire screen. Only the slightest vignetting along the edges. No dirty screen effect that I could see.Blacks are also very consistent with no flashlighting or bright spots anywhere. Pretty impressive!Colours are very saturated. Deep reds, greens , and yellows look great.True 120 Hz panel.TV is very responsive. It fires up right away and responds quickly to the bluetooth remote control.Straight-forward menu system although some common settings takes 5 or 6 clicks to get to.I also have an LG 65″ OLED to compare it to and it isn’t that far behind. The OLED does have more pop when watching HDR on Youtube or Netflix but that’s to be expected.Black level (7144:1) is really good considering no local dimming, in fact it’s BETTER than the Q80 (4225:1) with local dimming! It’s also got a much higher contrast ratio than Sony’s X900H (4786:1) and X950H (3819:1)with local dimming enabled. With a tiny bit of bias lighting, blacks look really black! The bezel is very thin – good!Haven’t tried gaming yet so can’t comment on lag or VRR.Now the bad (and it’s a short list):The sound, while clear, sounds hollow and has very little bass. There is an equalizer available when sound is in standard mode but it has little effect. Bass is not improved. Of course, you should be using a good soundbar or separate speakers with most TVs anyways.Off-angle viewing dims the picture quite quickly. Typical for a VA panel. Not nearly as bad as my old Vizio P50 or Sharp 632U though and better than most VA screens I’ve seen. All plastic construction. the only metal is the aluminum feet (which I removed when wall-mounting the set).No Dolby Vision – only HD10 and HD10+. HD10+ is comparable in function with Dolby Vision but isn’t used much by anyone except Samsung. Dolby Vision is not free but HD10+ is. HD10 processing is inconsistent with some movies being quite dim even with everything maxed out.The small included remote is adequate but a full function larger remote with direct access to more functions would have been great. Europe/Great Britain gets both. Why don’t we?I did end up buying an extra full-function remote off Amazon for 16 bucks that works well although it’s not bluetooth so you have to aim it at the TV receptor.Screen reflection handling is adequate but not great. Don’t have any lights on behind you and be careful if placing near a window.By the way, I received the Cdn model QN82Q70TAFXZC not the American model described (QN82Q70TAFXZA) and that’s fine. I believe they are identical anyway. My set was manufactured November 2020 so it’s only a month old. When I first went and checked for a software update it said there was one but when I tried to update via the TV it wouldn’t do it. I checked Samsung Canada and they had no firmware available for my set. I then checked Samsung.com (US) and sure enough they had the newer software (1460 I think) which I put on a USB stick and updated the TV. Took about 5 Min. Mine came with 1403 firmware. I can’t say I noticed any improvements or differences but then again, I’d only had the set for a few hours at that point. Here’s an important point…. The BRIGHTNESS setting is now actually the BACKLIGHT setting, so adjust it to how you like it. The old Brightness setting, which raised the black floor level is now called SHADOW DETAIL. If you raise that above zero, the black becomes gray (so don’t do it!).So, after all is said and done, I did something I thought I would never do – buy a huge edge lit 4K TV and I’m glad I did. I did spend a few days reading/watching every review I could find and what made me finally pull the trigger was the great Black Friday pricing, free shipping, and the extremely high contrast ratio without the need for local dimming. No regrets. This is a very good set and if you can still get it on sale, a very good value. Highly recommended.*****UPDATE******It’s now 11 days later and so far, owning this set has been a real pleasure. No bugs, freezing, or errors yet and after tweaking the settings further, it has a really good picture. BBC’s ‘Seven Worlds One Planet’ looks spectacular!I understand people being P’d off that this model is a backwards step for Samsung as the previous version had local dimming along with the full array back-lighting. However, I’m judging the set purely on its performance for the price.Local dimming, while helpful, is not necessarily the holy grail for TV’s. It creates its own set of problems including blooming and severe dimming of small bright highlights (like stars in the night sky). I actually prefer a very high contrast ratio that doesn’t need local dimming to give a satisfactory black background. This set does that. I’ve owned two LG OLED’s and once you get used to seeing really bright tiny highlights against a black background, you quickly realize the limitations of local dimming.Technology marches on and in a few years we’ll realize that local dimming was just a little stop-gap measure to give LCD sets satisfactory black levels.Oh, and by the way, all this relates to watching your TV in a dark or dimly lit room. In the daytime, or a well-lit room at night, they all have great black levels – all of them……..Just my two bits worth after owning and playing with about 14 flat panel TVs I’ve owned over the years….***Another Update***So, now I’ve had the set for over 6 months and have been totally happy with it. ……..Except……..2 days ago it died. Nothing. No sign of life. Dead as a door-nail. Yesterday morning I got a hold of Samsung on the phone. I tried the chat line first but the guy didn’t seem to know anything and gave me poor advise. Anyway, Samsung had me do the basic stuff like verifying it had power, the remote was working etc. About 5 min. later they said I was covered by warranty and that there was a service centre in my area and I should hear from them in 24 to 48 hours. Barely 4 hours later, a nice guy phoned from the authorized service centre. We went over the basic problem. He said it was probably 1 of 2 things and would order both and I should expect him to come by in 2 to 3 days to fix the TV. Colour me impressed! I told him the 82″ TV was wall-mounted and if I needed to remove it and place it on my TV stand. He said, “No, don’t bother. I’ll bring an extra guy and we’ll do it.” Wow!Anyway, I was bored so I took it off the wall myself and now it’s sitting ready for their arrival. I expect it will go as planned and my set will be working well again. If not, I will update this ridiculously long review and let you know.Just one of those things. In 20 years, I’ve not had a failure with any of my dozen or so TVs.***Final Update***So, the Samsung service reps came by 2 days later, and half an hour later my set was fixed! There is only two small boards inside (plus the speaker boxes) – the power board and the main board which is the one he replaced. Now, here’s the real bit of info that I found out about later. Apparently, a dead crow was found on my neighbours sidewalk the same day my TV died. Apparently it shorted a couple of high voltage lines that run by our houses. My neighbour said that there was a loud noise and a voltage surge which went through their house. I wasn’t home at the time but I figure that may have been what toasted my TV. Will never know for sure but NOW everything electronic is protected with high quality surge protected power bars!

I bought the 85 inch model which has a spectacular picture. I have not seen a true 4K broadcast, but the even with broadcasts of old TV shows the detail and clarity blows me away. I can see details that I never knew existed in movies I have seen numerous times. I could go on and on about the picture quality, but I will just say it is everything you would expect from a TV of this quality in this price range. This time all the hype in the advertising is true which is very rare.So if the TV is so great, why did I only give it three stars? Notice I said the PICTURE is spectacular, unfortunately there are several negatives that affect the watching experience. They are the 1) remote control, 2) sound, and 3) forced on screen advertising.1) The remote that comes with the TV is a nightmare to use. The buttons are too small, badly placed too close together, and lacking some very important functions. I have only owned the TV two days and have already lost count of the number of time I have tried to press a button only to find it was so close to the adjoining button that it was the one that was depressed sending me to places that were a pain to from which to recover. The worst are the set of direction buttons ringing the select button near the top. If your finger is not exactly centered on this tiny button yo will more than likely end up pushing one of the direction buttons. First of all it is very difficult to feel the buttons so most of the time you have to hold the remote to your face and look to get your finger on the correct button. The same problem exists with the direction buttons. Is is almost impossible to tell if your finger is actually on the direction button. You will use these buttons MORE than any others. You need them to navigate the myriad confusing menus, and input information using the horrible on screen keyboard. That is another problem, there are no number keys or letter keys, so ALL inputs have to be done with horrible onscreen keyboards and given the navigation button problems that is a long tedious and frustrating experience. In addition, there are three quick navigation buttons at the bottom which are NOT PROGRAMMABLE! They are obviously put there because Samsung was PAID to put them there. I am not going to say their names because I refuse to give these service any recognition.2) The sound is abysmal. Samsung spent all their engineering time on the picture and smart system and forgot that sound is part of the viewing experience. I bought a Samsung Q60T sound bar and it is not much better (2 Stars), but that is a separate review. Suffice it to say that the sound quality is not up to the standards one would expect from a TV that costs $2,400.3) The menu bar at the bottom of the screen which you HAVE to use to select apps has an advertising icon in the VERY FIRST spot where you land when you enter the menu. I just paid a little over $2,500 for a television and these idiots are FORCING advertising on me!!!!!!! You cannot remove it or even move it.This TV just like their phones is filled with bloatware that they force on their customers over which the end-user has no control.I love the picture on this TV, but I cannot recommend it based on the negatives I listed in the reviews.
