Fits neatly under upper kitchen cabinets and white bezel means it blends into a kitchen relatively well. Picture and sound are perfectly fine for what this tv is designed for. Built in smart tv is totally fine too. It’s the perfect tv for your kitchen counter.

Good large monitor, please double check the detailed specs to see if they meet your needs. this is a good monitor for watching videos and casual web browsing. Where it does not perform as well is for smaller fonts when reading documents, pdf files, and email which are needed for work. To compensate on the font resolution you need to increase the resolution. Overall, good monitor for casual browsing and videos. Not good for smaller font viewing if you like good crisp resolution for multiple windows needed in more of a working environment.

I’m not a gamer, so I don’t need that kind of performance, but I do work on my photos (not pro-level), do some 3D design work, and spend a good number of hours browsing or writing online. I just need a monitor with a good quality picture and ample display area. This LG meets both of those needs and comes with a pretty slim case border, which is nice. Having so much display area, I immediately hoped I could move to a higher resolution, but 1920 is the limit. That’s okay. I didn’t want to spend a lot, and you don’t get something for nothing. It does what an economy monitor is supposed to do, and does it well. The problem was… The HDMI cable it came with was defective. I connected everything correctly (no rocket science involved in plugging in an HDMI cable) but the monitor said no signal was coming in. What could it be? I checked out my display port settings, looked for drivers, tried the troubleshooters, flirted with BIOS settings (which I didn’t go for), rebooted, etc, etc. The last thing I would expect to fail is a brand new cable. And yet, after wasting time on other possibilities, I borrowed a known-good cable from my disc player and, voila! It worked exactly as expected.Nice monitor. Dodgy HDMI cable. eh… You save a little money on the cheaper product, but you might need to monkey around a bit. I’m still happy with it.

This monitor provides a nice sharp picture and allows me to hook up either display port or HDMI. I have it and an older Lenovo 32 inch monitor working off my computer now. I think the image quality of this one is much better than the older one. It works at 2560x 1440 resolution with no problems.

LG 27UK580-B Ergo – QC lacking, but $299 can’t be beat if you get a good display. Purchased three of them, and two were decently bright for the price – and I really enjoyed the ERGO mounts that they came with. These mounts are extremely high quality, easy to install (though the mounting the monitor part would be easier with a second pair of hands). The third monitor I ended up returning because you could see a noticeable difference between the other two, and this third one. The colors were no where near as vibrant, and the backlight was also dimmer even when factory resetting all three monitors and switching between ports or cables between them – the results were clearly the same (indicating the backlight was likely the issue). For office work, and light gaming – I think you could honestly get away with using these and not feel like you are missing too much. Unless you want to spend over $1,500 on your display, then obviously there are brighter and more vibrant displays. But if you want to quickly up your multi-monitor setup, getting three or even four of these on an L-shaped large desk would definitely be recommended. Just make sure if you purchase only one monitor, you have a certain minimum standard that you expect from them because you might get a dud, and you may not ever know what the display should have looked like in order to properly judge it.I also tried the LG 32UK580-B 32, and the two displays that were good were brighter than the one LG 32UK580-B 32 that I tested. I am not sure if all LG 32UK580-B 32’s have lower quality backlights, or if it’s just the one I got – but that should be worth mentioning.

If you have a need for an all-in-one display that combines a display, webcam, microphone, speakers, and USB-C connector, this is a solid option for you.For an integrated display such as the LG 24MP750C-B, it is priced in the higher end of the middle of the pack.It is an IPS (in plane switching) display vs. a VA (vertical alignment) display, and IPS is generally a better quality display technology. IPS displays have better color and viewing angle than VA displays, while VA displays tend to have narrower viewing angles and better black levels than IPS displays.LG typically makes solid computer displays, and this one is no different. I hate when I can’t adjust the height, tilt, or orientation of a display (as the alternative for adjusting height is stacking bundles of printer paper under the display stand, which is far less elegant), and this model has all of those adjustments which I really like. The USB-C connector is also convenient as with that single cable, I can power my laptop (which gets rid of the PC power brick…win!) and use it to output video from my laptop to the display. Fewer cables = better.Insofar as display quality is concerned, this LG IPS display is bright, has great color and contrast, and really good black levels. And of course, it has the wider viewing angle typical of IPS displays so the viewing “sweet spot” is generous. One thing of note…it is a 27″ widescreen monitor with HD resolution (1920 x 1080). That is totally fine and is great for work and viewing HD movies, however if you don’t need the niceties of a built-in webcam and mic, for slightly less money you can get a 32″ widescreen 4K (3820 x 2160) HDR10 LG display (LG 32UN500-W). That model does use a VA panel vs. IPS panel, so that is something to keep in mind. Just a thought.

This monitor is high quality for it’s price or it was when I bought it but it’s now obsolete and I can only recommend it if it’s on a significant lower price than the nano version. Rtings have a custom ICC profile for this monitor, you may check that out in case that you decide to buy this. These UltraGear monitors will perform well and it comes with a stand that will allow you to rotate the monitor in case that you want to play a game with Tate mode. It comes with both HDMI and DP cables. BTW keep in mind that these monitors don’t have DP 2.0 connection.

This monitor honestly blew my expectations out of the water. The 2560×1080 resolution looks crisp while providing vibrant color depth with good whites and solid blacks build into an IPS display. The built in HDR10 support really helps improve the overall picture quality more than I could’ve imagine as this is my first HDR monitor. Build quality is a little on the cheap feeling side with the plastic body and thick-ish bezel especially around the screen but looking past that, everything about this monitor feels great. I don’t know the quality of the stand as I went straight to mounting it on my wall. Games look amazing with the extra added detail to the world which is the main reason I went with an UWHD monitor. I recommend this monitor for anyone looking to getting into UWHD that wants a crisp and vibrant screen with HDR support. I couldn’t be happier. And this is moving down from a 28″ Samsung 4K monitor. Definitely worth it.

In my previous monitor, an ASUS which lasted 6 years before going black, in a photo, I could see a daytime star over Table Mountain in South Africa. I can still see it with this monitor, but it’s not as easily pronounced. So the definition in this monitor, which was much cheaper, is a bit less. But unless you’re analyzing really hidef photos, this monitor is good enough for everything else. I don’t do gaming so I can’t compare it on that.

I bought this monitor to replace an older HP IPS model that I never really could get dialed in on the color. I edit on a MacBook Pro and the colors between the MacBook and the old monitor were always pretty far off. Had lots of problems with reds on the old monitor being over saturated. I saw the reviews on this and thought it would be worth a try. So far, I’m loving it. The colors right out of the box are much closer to my Mac and the clarity is amazing. The old monitor was 1920 x 1440. I’m running this monitor in 3840 x 2160/60Hz and for photoshop and Lightroom, it’s just flat out awesome right out of the box. Skin tones are much more representative of actual tones.PROS: Clear Picture, Good Color, Good Brightness.CONS: I don’t like the menu system, the joystick controller, and the “beeps” are super annoying. The sounds the monitor makes are very much like an old school Colleco video game. When it powers down it’s painful.

I bought this monitor and are very satisfied with the purchase besides the fact that the monitor stand is wobbly. Every time I type quick or move my mouse quick the whole monitor shakes and it is very noticeable. The Monitor stand is just unstable to hold this monitor BUT thankful Monitor Arms are a thing so that should be a non-issue when I get one. In terms of Picture Quality it is really nice to look at especially since I upgraded from 1080p to 1440p, I noticed the different between them two almost instantly with my 1080p 240hz Alienware monitor being a side monitor now. Also the colors on this are great and it shipped quickly. Overall Great Monitor but has a bad stand…

This 27-inch TV Monitor is basically a tunerless smart TV. It can not be connected to an over-the-air antenna because it has no OTA tuner so if you’re a city dweller and use an antenna this TV is not for you. But–users of antennas are in the minority today. For everyone else, this is a great little (27″) TV. It is LED-backlit and It can be connected to your cable box or used with any wireless stick (Roku, Amazon, Apple, etc). It doesn’t need any additional external box if you are happy with the included offerings. Picture is sharp and clear (1920x1080p resolution) and sound is better than other small TVs I’ve owned. The included remote is intuitive and comprehensive. Overall–a high-quality TV.I’ve only owned this TV for about s month

I’m using this new LG monitor to replace a worn out Samsung model S27A550H that became pixelated after several years of use. This LG has the same terrific picture quality in a trimmed down package. Brightness, contrast needed no adjustment, and the color quality is excellent. This monitor fits neatly on my desk with the built-in stand, and the viewing angle is perfect. Bad news: The instructions that come with the unit are totally worthless. Good news: You don’t need them anyway. Easy to figure out and assemble. You cannot find a better monitor for this low priced model.

This monitor is well worth the price for a budget friendly quality gaming monitor that is name brand. My only issue i have had is the original one was delivered on a really rainy stormy day and the monitor / packaging was ruined. Amazon effortlessly replaced it and it was delivered 2 days later. The key things you need to understand about the monitor:HDMI ports are HDMI 2.0, not 2.1. Best they can support is 1080p @ 120hz or 1440hz @ 100hz (series X can only do 60hz or 120hz, so i was limited to 1080p through the HDMI port). Easy fix for this is to get an HDMI 2.1 cable TO DisplayPort 1.4 CABLE ADAPTER. Quick amazon or google search and you can find one. I now have full use of monitor graphics playing on my xbox series X.TLDR; the powerful specs of this monitor are through DisplayPort. If you have HDMI only you WILL need to buy an adapter to use the DISPLAYPORT aspect. Otherwise well worth the money for name brand.

Struggled for a while concerning which monitor to get. Upgrading from 21” to 27” was a great move. Monitor is very sturdy. Great picture for the price. Will tilt a little bit too if you need it. 10/10 recommend.

I purchased this for a gaming PC. Until all the parts are available, I’ve been testing this out by using my Xbox Series X to game in 1440p. Let me start out by saying the monitor I got has virtually zero IPS glow, which I was very worried about when purchasing. I’m used to playing on a 4K TV with true HDR, so when I booted up Forza Horizon 5 for the first time, I was a little disappointed at the image quality. It was a tad blurry compared to 4K, but what really stood out to me was the lack of color. All colors were completely washed out and didn’t pop whatsoever and there was very little contrast, but I figured this is the downside of IPS monitors. UNTIL TONIGHT, when I realized theres a setting in the xbox which you are supposed to change when using a computer monitor, changing the colorspace to “PC RGB.” That has unlocked 5x more colors and now it looks wonderful with tons of color and contrast, and eye piercing brightness available if you want it. The monitor for me went from “meh” to “WOW” just by changing that setting, so xbox users be aware! No complaints whatsoever now. The only thing I can say is if you are very used to 4K displays, the downgrade to 1440p will be slightly shocking, but I have already gotten used to it and don’t mind it very much. But in a few years when the RTX 6090 comes out I will be going back to 4K. For now, very happy with the purchase and can’t see how you can do any better with a 1440p monitor in this price range!

I read the reviews before purchasing this PC monitor. The large size allows for easy viewing of emails, etc. I found the stand easy to attach, but there are some reviews stating the stand breaks easily. I would suggest if you need to move the monitor to grasp the stand and not the monitor. I have LG HDTVs and this LG PC monitor is just as good. So far, I love it for work and entertainment.

So, I’m not sure what the heck this thing really is. If you search for it, there’s hardly any info on the internet, no reviews, no comparisons, nothing. I can’t even figure out what year it was made. It has a model number, but no proper name. Here’s the thing though, if what you’re looking for is a portable TV that doubles as a computer monitor and stands securely on it’s own without brackets or support, this is your TV.It’s Full HD and at 27″ that’s all you need. The sound from the built in speaker is amazingly clear especially in AI mode; colors are acceptable out of the box with several modes to chose from (and easily switch between), and if you like to do an advanced adjust, you can. It’s clearly designed to be a standalone unit without support from other peripherals. The image is IPS so wide enough viewing angle, maybe 160-170 degrees or so, and I’d say it’s pretty bright. I use it in conference rooms with bright flourescent lighting all the time and it’s never washed out. WebOS which is fine. The best thing about it though is how stable it is. Don’t listen to other reviewers who are confused by the lack of a stand. The TV is its own stand. As long as your surface is level, it’ll sit there and you won’t have to worry. Because it doesn’t have those little plastic legs most TVs come with it can be place on as narrow or wide a surface as you like (on a stack of books for example). If you bump it, it won’t fall over. It has little rubber feet on the bottom for traction. And if you really want, you can use the VESA holes in back or the holes on the bottom to add your own stand.Form factor is very comfortable and you can carry it under your arm. I use it as a TV in the bedroom, an external monitor for video editing, and as a display at tradeshows for presentations, videos or standalone graphics and signage. I hop right into the UBER with it under my arm. You can AirPlay right to the TV, use HDMI or play media from a USB stick. Also it looks sleek. All white, like something out of THX-1138. Buy this TV.

It does the basics and has all the basics you need to work from home. I don’t like controlling the buttons from under the screen. I don’t like the fact It doesn’t work well with my surface pro from work. I can’t use the wide screen on the surface pro. The speakers are good but not like the MacBook M1. My MacBook works great in wide screen and it was easy to step up. I had to get a docking station because the monitor had no power output to charge my MacBook. It will charge my iPhone. I have connect external adaports. I wish this came with more ports and a power output but I guess we get what we pay for. The size fits perfectly on my Micke desk from IKEA in my closet at home.

Good:- Maximum real estate for productivity on a desk. Easy to snap 2-3 windows to see at once.- Great color, brightness, contrast.- Speakers! Pretty good ones too.- Picture in picture mode. Adds a spot to put a music player or chat over your workspace.- Dual Control functions as a virtual KVM switch.- Easy setup, sturdy stand. Sleek and modern looking.- Good connectivity w/ 2 HDMI, 1 Display, 1 Mic/Phones out.- Nice 3 trim bezels on three sides.- Plays well with a laptop dock.- Able to be vesa mounted.- Options Menus are easy to access and navigate.Bad:- Stand only has tilt. No height or rotate.- No built-in cable management.- Headphone jack is on back, kind of hard to access.- Decent specs for casual gaming. Serious gamers might not be impressed.- Doesn’t have the PBP (Picture by Picture) mode for splitting the screen between two computers.- I can’t figure out how to get Night Light (blue light reduction) to work on this as a 2nd monitor.Summary: Don’t judge the monitor by my crappy phone photos. They don’t come close to doing this justice. This is a great monitor.I’ve only had this monitor for a day but so far I’m in love with it. I was torn between a couple of 24″ or 27″ and this was the perfect solution. The color / brightness / saturation is all great, overkill in some ways. I had to tone the brightness and saturation down a bit to be able to comfortably view windows with a bright background. The FPS color profile setting works best for me. Viewing angles are terrific. The SPEAKERS!! It’s been ages since I’ve had a monitor with built in speakers and although these aren’t top of the line three-way they are stereo and quite loud and clear. It won’t replace your home stereo with a subwoofer but these are more than good enough quality for casual listening and I consider myself picky in regards to sound quality. It’s just so nice not to have to putz with speaker cables, bluetooth connections, yadda yadda. Just turn it on and it works. They are down-firing so if you wanted to get nerdy and put a deflector underneath them you’d get a cleaner, more direct sound. I don’t think I’ll bother. They’re easily 3x better than my laptop speakers. For office – fantastic! So much real estate you can multitask with ease. Keep email, spreadsheets, Spotify, Slack, Zoom, whatever up and running at the same time so you don’t have to keep minimizing and missing things. Easily break the screen up into 3-4 parts. Plays nice with my laptop dock. Picture in Picture mode is a game changer, adds even more ways to split up the real estate. The Dual Control function is pretty amazing too. I have my main PC as a laptop, second PC as a Mac and I can easily use Dual Control and switch between them, same keyboard, same mouse. All I have to do is change the input to HDMI 2 and hit CTRL, Rt Arrow to use the mouse and keyboard on the Mac. Can even copy files up to 2gb from PC to Mac without messing with shares or network permissions. Too Easy. For gaming – eh you’ll get what you pay for with this one. It’s an IPS panel so great color but not the fastest response times and it only goes up to 75mhz so won’t win any refresh races. It would be fun for casual gaming. Beware that some games won’t operate full screen widescreen and you may get black bars on the sides. For those that do widescreen though – fun!For photo editing – this is a dream. It’s high enough res to see plenty of detail and you get tons of real estate for menus, toolbars, etc. Color reproduction is fantastic. Super easy to see side-by-sides for color matching. No messing around trying to get two monitors calibrated to look the same. It is only an 8bit display so not super-duper pro quality but definitely 16 million colors will be enough for most uses.So far the good heavily outweigh the bad – the bad are not really bad just meh. If you’re looking for a way to maximize your screen real estate and don’t want to break the bank this is a great option.

If you’re looking to get a high quality but affordable gaming monitor then this is a great choice – it does the job well enough and at the right size for gaming. However if you are looking for something for editing/work space then I’d recommend spending the extra $200 or so and picking up something with the proper resolution. This monitor doesn’t give you the fine details and customizable options to expand the views – it’s more zoomed in for simple tasks because of the low resolution, which is of course why the cost is so low compared to other 27 inch monitors. Overall it’s a solid 4/5 for me, kinda depends on what use case you’re looking to execute.

This is a great monitor, especially at the price point it is at. I’ve had it for over 2 years by now and have had only one problem with it: the slightly wobbly stand. The stand does not rest completely flat on any surface, making it tilt easily if it is brushed up against. Still, it is a fantastic IPS monitor for what you are paying for. I’m planning to transition it to the role of secondary monitor once my 27GP850-B arrives later this month.

Upgrading from a 24 inch Ben Q 1080 P monitor that has been very good for the last five years. After upgrading my GPU to an RTX 3080 I knew it was time to upgrade my monitor as well. I did quite a bit of research before settling on the 27GP850. After reading, many reviews, and watching several videos, this one stood out to me as being a great value in its price range.I particularly like the overall picture quality. It’s quite bright, and would certainly be a good choice in well lit rooms. Colors are vibrant and overall it’s well calibrated out of the box. My monitor has little to no IPS light bleed, which was a pleasant surprise along with zero dead pixels out of the box. It is both G-sync and free-sync capable. The high refresh rate allows for smooth gameplay. The stand is quite solid, and provides plenty of support for the monitor. The only thing lacking is swivel, which would have been nice. It does allow for height adjustment along with tilt and you can rotate the monitor into portrait.Honestly, I find very little fault in this monitor overall. Lack of swivel adjustment and a slightly annoying short power cord are really the only two things that stand out. I’m not entirely sure why LG went with a power cord so short.I can’t compare this monitor to other displays in its price range, but I can say that it was a significant upgrade from my previous display. Particularly going to a 1440p IPS monitor makes a significant difference. more than I had anticipated.

This monitor was worth every penny. The only thing that I did not like about the monitor is that the stand is not adjustable. However it sits perfectly on my desk so I do not need to adjust it. I do love the fact that you can tilt the screen. I am strongly considering to buy another one.

I had been using an Asus 24″ 1080 monitor for years and decided I needed a better (bigger) screen for these old eyes. I had been a PC guy for decades (because that is what work dictated) and now that I have retired, I wanted to get back to my Apple roots, since I’m already in the apple environment with my phone. I took the opportunity when the new MacBook Air M2 came out this summer and made the jump, but quickly learned that Apple manages screen resolutions significantly different than Microsoft. After a lot of research and some testing on 4K screens, I learned that Apple upscales/downscales natively in the 100dpi/200dpi range (which is how they get “retina” quality on their screens. So plugging a 4K monitor will improve quality at the sacrifice of size. However, if you allow Apple to “custom scale” resolution, this can eat up a lot of gpu processor bandwidth and, depending on what kind of work you are doing, impact performance. At the 4K price these days, I didn’t need this aggravation. the 1440p monitors are a nice compromise, as they will natively upscale/downscale to the 100 dpi range (you can find the formulas online to check), but when one moves to a larger screen, the benefit of the higher resolution is lost because the larger screen offsets the move from 1080p to 1440p quality – giving you basically the same dpi count. All this to say, I ended up with a larger screen, so I have more real estate, but the quality is not any better than the old monitor, and still noticeably inferior to the MacBook screen – though absolutely useable, even for streaming. As far as prior comments, I noticed no “wobbly” effect from the monitor stand. It is just as sturdy as any monitor I have ever owned since they went to a flat screen format. Also, the settings on the monitor area easy/peasy, with the small “joy-stick” type input device on the bottom/center of the monitor, rather than the tradition 4 button array found on monitors. At the sale price I got this at, I’m happy with the monitor, though not pleased I could not find a better and affordable solution to the resolution issue inherent with Apple, but this would be the case with any 1440p, 27 inch monitor, so this is not a “ding” to this particular LG product. At the higher price some of the comparable monitors were selling at, I would have returned it.

So far so good.Using with my Apple Mac Studio computer.plug and play. NO hassle.Would be nice if the screen was a little faster for watching Motocross, Supercross, etc. Although maybe it is the fault of the company recording and providing the MX and SX.The image just seems not as clear as it could be.

I liked the picture quality and the 3-side borderless design. Monitor stand needs to be a little more rigid, there was sometimes a noticeable monitor wobble. Old monitor never did that.

I’ve read reviews here complaining about stuck and dead pixels and other image oddities with this monitor, and either I’m unusally lucky and they’re really unlucky, or this is just a great monitor that got jumbled around for some people in shipping – because for the last 2+ months the picture has been flawless and jaw-dropping in its clarity and contrast.I picked this monitor after my old 24″ Dell developed a weird, intermittent power-socket problem that had it shutting down whenever so much as a house fly would land on the cord. I took it apart to inspect the socket’s solder joints to the PCB and they were solid, which led me to believe it was an issue with the power supply circuit itself, likely a failing cap or something. But after using that thing for close to a decade it was time for an upgrade anyhow. So I did some well-spent time scouring a whole bunch of online “Best of” review pages for 27″ 2560 x1440 monitors, and when it finally came down to a toss-up between this LG Ultragear and a Gigabyte M27Q this one won, mostly for being almost 73 bucks cheaper. The Gigabyte has a slightly faster refresh rate – 170Hz vs 144Hz, and a 0.5mS response time rather than 1mS, but I’m not a heavy-duty gamer running a mega-overclocked $4k gaming PC with a graphics card that costs as much as my whole system, so those weren’t persuasive enough to get me to part with the $73 extra – and I’m thinking even hardcore gamers would be hard-pressed to spot any appreciable difference between the two. So LG Ultragear it is.The biggest downside is that there is exactly one (1) physical adjustment that this monitor’s stand allows, and that’s: Tilt. It’s a fixed height so no up-down at all; there’s no rotation joint for landscape/portrait orientation like the old Dell had (but not something I ever used anyway,) but there isn’t even a side-to-side rotation joint on the base. That last is inexplicable and an annoyance because it’s a useful adjustment especially when you have a small and cramped desktop, but given the otherwise-flawless nature of this product I can deal with it. *And* it looks really, really cool, with the red-and-black color scheme on the reverse side – if that’s visible in the room where you’re using it.The only other problem I had was that I could not get the HDMI ports to work with my graphics card (an AMD,) so I had to go buy a DP cable that would reach. That may be a glitch with the graphics card rather than the monitor, so I give the benefit of the doubt on that one. But once connectivity was out of the way, no problems.I’ve been using this for just under three months with no issues and continued amazement at the image quality and contrast. So if you’re looking for a truly great 27″ monitor that has some impressive technical specs for the price, buy with confidence. If you’re feeling flush, go have a look at the similarly high-rated Gigabyte M27Q – Amazon product code B08JWCHR5N. But at $277 you can’t beat this LG. Happy camper here.

No it might not be the top of the line or the newest thing but it is certainly an excellent option for a monitor you can buy and basically forget about. I’ve had it for roughly 3 or 4 months so here’s a couple upsides and downsides. The pros are basically exactly what the monitor advertises. It’s pretty much a textbook ips monitor with vibrant colors, 144hz refresh, and 1ms delay. If you’ve been rocking 1080 and 60hz for awhile. Treat yourself, you will not go wrong with an upgrade like this and I promise you can most likely get over the downsides (as long as you find a decent price). However if your a gaming enthusiast or somebody downgrading there’s a couple things you certainly need to consider. The bad side. Backlight glow, yes this is an ips, your gonna notice it every now and then. All I can say is if you use nvidia control panel turn the brightness setting up and the contrast down, then turn the actual monitor brightness down as needed. You’ll lose some of the vibrancy with the colors but I find curbing some of the backlight glow to be more of a priority. That said I’m somebody that typically uses my computer in a dark room, sometimes with only my monitor on at night and I find the backlight to be manageable in that environment. You just might have to tweak your settings every now and then. The monitor is also quite hefty, if your planning on using a wall mount or some kind of system with height adjustment that doesn’t lock you may run into an issue with the weight of the monitor maxing out that stand. As for the stand that comes with the monitor, it does only have one adjustment but that personally hasn’t bothered me, there’s some comments suggesting buying a mount to replace it, I think it would be in your best interest to wait and see if that’s really a concern for you.The HDR function doesn’t really work as intended. Whatever, just turn it offThat’s about it. You get what you pay for and in my opinion this is a good option at the price I paid which was $270 when I got it

Below is my original review and I’m leaving it there so people can learn from my mistake.I ordered a second one of these monitors thinking it must have been defective. I was wrong. When I opened this new one, before I pulled everything out of the box and set it up, I just wanted to test it first so I just pulled the monitor out of the box along with the power supply. Same thing happened as the previous model using my Display Port cable, which was brand new when I tried the one I thought was defective the other day. Then I tried the DP cable that was in the box and then the HDMI cable. No difference. Take a look at the pictures to see what I’m talking about. The dim one is the LG 27GL850-B and the bright one is the ASUS PB278Q. I figured two monitors being damaged in a row is very unlikely so I thought I’d browse through he menus again to see if there was something I missed on the first one. I came across Display Port Version. It was set to 1.4 so I thought let me see if changing that would do anything, just something, anything and I changed it to 1.2 and BAM, nice, bright colors. I changed it to 1.1 but there was no difference between that and 1.2 so I put it back to 1.2 remembering seeing somewhere my MSI GTX-1060 mentioned something about Display Port 1.2. Tech support emailed me back when I sent them my complaint but it didn’t mention anything about checking the DP Version. I replied to LG’s email telling them of my huge blunder but in my defense, someone should have told me to check this, even if not in the quick start guide or the manual but at least in the tech support email. Anyway, this monitor is just as bright as my ASUS PB278Q, which is five years old and this one isn’t even set at its brightest. I’m happy and I plan on ordering one more so I have two of the same and I’ll keep my ASUS as a backup and maybe for my laptop.OLD REVIEW:The colors are muddy, at best and are far from ‘Color Calibrated’ and no where near LG’s claims of a ‘Wide Color Gamut’. The blacks are dark grey at best when I have it set to a bright enough level where I can actually see it. The images this monitor displays doesn’t even come close to the ASUS it replaced. I even tried to adjust the colors in the Nvidia control panel with no success. Lastly, this monitor is not bright at all. It has to be the dimmest monitor I’ve ever used in my 26 years working with computers. This is not a $300 monitor. I wouldn’t pay $100 for it. So, it gets returned.

These monitors perform well, set up easy, and were expertly packaged. I was up and running in no time, and the picture/performance is more than enough for my home office. I’m not a gamer, so no opinions from me on that front. But for work, the occasional movie, etc. on my MacBook Pro, these monitors provide good balance between cost and performance. Running both monitors on 4K at 60hz.

Monitor image is awesome, clear, concise colors, as is the included camera. But this screen is extremely fragile unlike any other monitor I’ve ever owned. Mine had a flashlight tip over onto it while the monitor was off. Bottom right side of OS dock is unusable, as well as vertical lines. Had I know this monitor was so fragile, it would have been left on a more isolated desk where no house guests could ever get near it.To add to the injury, LG customer service to date has been totally unsatisfactory. First request resulted in a message to resubmit the request. The second request was answered with options for repair that contradicted themselves and left no means to reply for further action. I am now stuck with a really nice monitor with the right 25% of the screen unreadable.

For the most part, it is a good monitor but still lags and it’s very difficult to maneuver the settings directory. I don’t recommend, I say go with an Asus which was my first choice

The monitor broke after 2 days of use. It now flickers every 6.5 seconds. I swapped cables and ports. No avail. Plugged different computers into it. Same result. So I submitted an online support ticket to LG.Let me say this: bad things happen. I’m not overly irritated the monitor broke. No production process is flawless and duds will happen. My concern is LG’s support process.I received it on Friday. It started malfunctioning on Sunday.I submitted the online support request Sunday night and received an automated email almost immediately. The closing line is “We will call you as soon as possible.” Note that word: “call.”Monday I received an email from “Arianne” reiterating the ticket number, informing me to look for additional correspondence with shipping labels, offering condolences, and providing links to create support requests. As an IT professional, I hate these emails. All of that could have been accomplished in the automated response. Additionally, since I have created the ticket which kicked off this process, I don’t need instructions or links to accomplish what I’ve already successfully done. These emails are designed to placate the individual and provide a “human touch.” I find them condescending and superfluous.Tuesday night I received the shipping label and instructions to arrange a FedEx pick up.FedEx picked up the monitor Saturday.Keep in mind, it has now been 7 days and there has been no mention of when I will receive a replacement, and no actual contact with any support professional, no troubleshooting, and no “call.”So I called them.I asked for an estimate on when I can expect a replacement. I am informed that it is under warranty (duh, it broke after 2 days). But the warranty is a repair or replace warranty. So they have 10 business days from the time they receive it to attempt repairs. It could take as little as a “couple of days” if it’s an easy fix. If they determine it’s not repairable or cost effective to repair, I will receive a replacement or a refund. I am also told to allow 3-4 days shipping each way. For those keeping count, that means 3-4 days to them, 10 business days for assessment and repair (which will include at least 1 weekend), and 3-4 days return trip. I paid for a monitor, got 2 days of use out of it, and won’t have it back in working fashion for up to 20 days if all goes well. If all does not go well, I will wait a full month for a monitor I already paid for, and then be given a refund, purchase a replacement, wait another week for delivery, and hope this process does not repeat. When I spend a few hundred dollars on something, I expect it to work. If it happens to be faulty, I expect a PROMPT replacement. Nothing about this has been prompt thus far, and they are promising more of the same. And don’t tell me you’re going to call and then make me have to reach out to you a full week later. At this point I hope it becomes a refund scenario because I am not overjoyed at the prospect of doing business with LG in the future.**First update**Last week I called LG support again since they still seem unable to contact me and provide any guidance or information. I was told the monitor was still in transit.**Second update**It is now May 17th (14 days since I submitted the support request)I called the support number to day for an update. The support person tells me the repair team has not received the monitor yet, but he will follow up and have someone contact me. He advises me to expect a phone call and that I should “keep my line clear.” He also took down my email address because they will send out “periodic updates of repair progress.” That part is concerning since that information is already in the system with the repair tick (what they refer to as an RNN number). I have not received any call or email yet. Meanwhile, my repair status is still “Appointment Confirmation” which is the same status it has been in since I submitted the request 2 weeks ago.**Third Update**It’s May 31st. They still list my monitor as being in repair status. Since my last update I have had contact with them twice. The first was when they called me to due to me filing a complaint on their website. All that person did was reiterate this is their standard support process. He took down my number and email address and informed me they would update me periodically throughout the process. To date, that call is the only contact they have initiated. I have received no updates in any format without reaching out to them myself. I called them again on the 26th to get a progress update and spoke to someone who told me it had not yet been repaired and parts had been ordered. He told me to expect the monitor between the 27th and the 31st. Seeing as how the ticket shows it still hasn’t been repaired (and the date of this update), we can all guess how accurate that information was.**Fourth Update**June 1st. It has now been 29 days since the support request was submitted.I called again today since yesterday was the deadline for them to complete repair, replacement, or refund. I am being told the repair facility is waiting on parts which will not be available until next week. I requested they escalate the call to a manager since they are now in violation of their own terms, which they have explained to me each time I have reached out for updates. The response I was given is that they will transfer the call but I will be provided the same information. I reiterate they are past their own deadline and this is unacceptable. I clearly state there needs to be a resolution today and I need to be transferred to someone who can make that happen. He says please hold. I have been on hold for half an hour.**Fifth Update**June 1st update part 2. After being on hold for just over an hour, I spoke to a woman who explained the following to me:1. They should have never given me turnaround times. They are not supposed to set those expectations because they cannot guarantee them.2. She will initiate the refund/replacement process for me, but can’t do it herself. She has to send an email to the repair department (Elizabeth) because they are the only ones who can initiate a replacement or refund request. She will send the email off instructing (asking?) them to initiate a replacement or refund request and call me back in “a few days” to “let me know what they say.”3. The parts needed to repair my monitor are on back order. So for those keeping score, I am still losing. My current status is that the department that has failed me repeatedly are apparently the only ones who can resolve the issue. I should basically just kiss my $406.59 goodbye. I have utilized the “Email the President” feature on the LG website but I am not holding my breath. In short, while I like LG products and have purchased numerous over the years, their support system is the worst I have ever encountered and I will not purchase any of their products in the future.**Sixth Update**June 8th. No one ever called me back as promised back on June 1st. The monitor simply showed up at my door yesterday (not a replacement or refund as indicated on the 1st, but the original monitor…supposedly repaired). I bit my tongue and set it up. It seemed to work fine last night. This morning, however, it is back to flickering…but now every 3 seconds. So the monitor is worse than when I sent it in. I called LG support and they said in this scenario they would ask that I send the monitor back to them for additional repairs. I refused and said I want my money back. Now I’m on hold again to speak with someone from “executive support.”**7th Update**After speaking with “executive support” on the 8th, I was told they were going to submit a request for a refund and someone would call me back on the 10th or 11th. It is now the 14th and I have heard nothing, so I called LG support again and was immediately informed by the gentleman who answered the phone that no request has been processed. So I’m on hold (again) for “executive support.” This has moved from agonizingly frustrating to downright unacceptable and bordering on theft.**8th update**After a brief hold I spoke to a woman who said she needed to put me on hold to track down a co-worker (presumably the guy I spoke to last week). 5 minutes later she came back on the line and gave the same initial greeting. I told her I was still waiting for her to track down the co-worker and she hung up on me.**9th Update**Called back and spoke to someone from the executive support/services team who says the following:1. The refund request was not submitted last week because their is a chance it could get rejected. So I have been waiting for a week on a callback to update me on the status of something they never actually did.2. Their policy is that they get TWO repair chances before a refund can be considered.3. They can submit the refund request but there is a chance it could get rejected because I have not allowed them a second chance at repairs. As of this writing, I have reached out to them twice via the message the president feature (which I received only one response to). That person said they were my case manager and I haven’t heard from them since. I have reached out via Twitter with no response yet. I have tracked them down by phone on a regular basis because no one ever follows up as they promise. And now I know they don’t call me back because they don’t take the actions they tell me they will, and if I don’t call them I’ll never know that I’m sitting with a broken monitor that no one wants to deal with. This is not “customer support.”**10th update**Charlie from LG is now my case manager. According to him, the refund request has been submitted which goes to someone higher up for review. That takes 7-10 business days (sound familiar?). If it is approved, I can expect a refund in 4-6 weeks (mid August). If it is rejected, I have to send the monitor in again, and if all works as it previously did, I’ll get it back sometime in mid August…and maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t.So lose/lose.**11th update**June 26th.Yesterday (the 25th) was the 10th business day (7-10 business days to review a refund request). I reached out to Charlie by responding to the text message he sent me on the 14th. Here is Charlie’s original text to me:”This is Charlie from LG following up with you regarding your case. I will be your case manager until this is resolved. I will be sending you updates on your case. You do not need to call into customer service. Please reach out to me directly if you have any questions or concerns and I will respond promptly.”Is anyone surprised I have received no updates regarding my case? Is anyone surprised that I got no response to my inquiry yesterday? Me neither. The saga continues.**12th update**July 26thHaven’t updated this in a while because, frankly, I just thought I was over it. Turns out, I’m not.My refund request was denied because I have to give them two repair attempts. So I sent it back.It arrived on my doorstep today. No updates or notifications since I sent it back to them, and the case tracker says repairs haven’t even been started. But it’s on my doorstep…with no power cable.I called in and explained the issue. I got put on hold while the rep “went off to see what he can find out.” He came back and told me he sent this to someone above him and that person will review and get back to me. I asked for an ETA. He said he can’t tell me “when they will have time to reach out.” I told him that was unacceptable and he hung up on me.**13th update**July 30thSo I spent two days calling the executive management hotline and they are apparently no longer taking my calls. I pulled the number for the repair facility off some shipping labels and called them (NOT LG by the way…they outsource repairs). That rep told me they had a ticket for me to return the monitor for a third attempt at repairs. I explained that it was returned to me without a power cable, and that I did not know if it needed repairs because I cannot plug it in to check. She then closed the return request and arranged to ship me a power cable. Today I received a text message from the Executive Support number. It states: “Our service records show that you recently spoke directly with an LG Presidential Liaison, is that correct? Please kindly select a number to let us know. 1) Yes 2) No” I have NOT spoken to any presidential liaison and responded accordingly. I have no idea at this point what that question and response will or won’t lead to. The power cable arrived today, and at this point it appears the monitor may be functioning properly. I’ll leave it running and reverify tomorrow since the issue has never presented immediately. At this point I should mention the guy who hung up on me on the 26th told me, “sir, we are doing our best to help you.”I really hope my experience is NOT what LG considers to be their best.**14th Update**August 6thI can now confirm the monitor is finally working. I have been using it for just over a week now and the flickering has not returned. There has been no contact from LG since they sent the missing power cable, and no follow-up to the previously mentioned text wherein they were “confirming” I had spoken to some mystery liaison (which never happened). And to be blunt, I am not calling to let them know they finally fixed it because, as I think we all can agree, they don’t really care. So, in summary, beware of LG support. It took over 3 months and ridiculous amounts of frustration to get a broken device repaired.Toodles.
