2020 Newest HP Stream 11.6 inch HD Laptop

Haven’t had a chance to play with it yet. I’m s long time HP user so I don’t think I will be disappointed.

Super small but was fast and lightweight stayed charged for days without being plugged in. Can use usb-c or laptop cord to charge. Charges quick. Supper ready to remove s-mode. I ended up returning because the size was too little for me

I wasn’t looking for anything fancy. I got this laptop for playing old pc games. It’s great for those: the dos-box comes right up and I’m not getting anything glitchy so far. Turns out this is a great little laptop! So lightweight, decent battery life, seems sturdy. I’d recommend this for any student needing a basic laptop for school.

Really like my little laptop. Needed something to get on line with because I wanted to retire my old laptop from internet to protect my adobe products. I love the color of the laptop but it’s a satin finish and oil from fingers are easily transfered to it. Needs to be cleaned of if it bothers you. It cleans right up. The other issue is that it runs in HP’s version of a safe mode. It appears that it won’t allow certain functions without you taking it out of safe mode. From what I understand, it’s purpose is to make the most out of memory available without taxing it with programs that take a lot to run. It gives you a choice when you run into a situation safe mode won’t allow. You can switch off safe mode. But I haven’t. It’s pretty nice the way it is. Just be aware, this laptop has built in limits.

This laptop is amazing for the price. The display is gergeours, the keyboard is very light and smooth to type on, it is an extremely fast laptop. I have no complaints.

I wouldn’t recommend buying the laptop from this company it’s in anothe country and after we purchased it wouldn’t keep a charge kept shutting off when I contacted the company and returned with in a few days they wouldn’t refund my money back then they tried to not refund the restocking fee back and they were very difficult to work with. They also told me I would have to wait 90 days for a decision if I can get my money back

Be aware it comes with m.365 so you don’t need to purchase that again…it’s already on there.Also you may want to search and read about S mode….I turned it off.Easy to use light and very pleased !

I received the laptop when expected. I bought it to use Microsoft Office and to surf the web – it works great for that.

The media could not be loaded.  Out of all the laptops I’ve had this one I really do love. I’ve had it for what 5 to 8 months now and no problems. It’ does what it’s supposed to do. And the price. Well you can’t beat that. Definitely buy.

This is perfect for my on-the-go work needs. So happy I bought it. A tablet wasn’t what I needed.

This runs a little slow but it just may need a memory card to give it a boost. It’s a beautiful color and it has a clean look. My only problem is that it runs a bit slow but it’s great for the price.

I got the laptop for work and I have had nothing but trouble with it. The keys stick and don’t want to work, it is always trying to update, it doesn’t load well or fast. (I have great internet) I would not recommend.

I have only used Microsoft on computers but found this to be great. Contrary to comments from others, there is no problem with the picture quality. I am hard of hearing and the sound is not loud enough for me is the only thing I can criticize it for. It does not have a touch screen so I can’t rate that and haven’t had it long enough to rate the battery life except is last a long time before charging.

I love how light weight and compact this chromebook is. Everything I need for quality and affordability!

Works great! No issues at all! But it is not a touch screen, read everything before you buy it. I knew it wasn’t when I bought it.

I’ve had several technology fails this year, including my gaming laptop and my Linux laptop breaking down. My budget is not what it was when I bought the gaming laptop, and the other one was a hand-me-down from a relative. So, I needed a cheap laptop to do basic typing and web browsing on until I can afford something to game on. Finding a non-Chromebook under $300 is tough these days, so I took a chance on this model.This laptop is good for very basic functionality. It’s small, lightweight, and runs quickly enough (granted you buy a separate hard drive and don’t overload its very small memory). I have the feeling that it would run better with an older OS: Windows 11 is not only awful on its own, it’s terribly bloated for a small-memory machine like this one. I won’t go into all the reasons why I hate W11 here, that would be a whole other review. I would recommend installing another OS on it if you have the know-how to do so. I may eventually install a Linux OS on it if performance ever decreases. So far, it’s quick enough for me. Don’t expect lightning-fast loading, though. Another tip: look up ways to unload extra programs to free up space and don’t have any programs run on start/continuously in the background if you can help it (OneDrive really bogs the system down).The screen quality is middling but it displays videos crisply enough. I wish it would dim a little more, since I often type in low-lighting. This leads me to my biggest complaint: NO KEYBOARD BACKLIGHT. I suspected it wouldn’t have one since it wasn’t mentioned in the product description, but since it’s such an important feature, I’m mentioning it in all-caps here. I use a low-wattage lamp to type by and I can see the keys (the white keyboard helps with this), not to mention I can type without looking at the keyboard often, but be warned about this! I know a keyboard backlight is a must-have for anyone that may need to type in extremely low/no-lighting situations.I’ll also mention that this is not a touchscreen laptop. I never use touchscreen laptops, but I know some buyers may expect this feature. The touchpad mouse has no buttons and can be a bit wonky; I highly recommend buying a separate mouse.I tried to run Steam and some games on this machine out of curiosity. Don’t do that. Even pixel art games with low-demand graphics will skip, sometimes freeze, and put too much demand on the system. I haven’t tried streaming video from this machine to my TV yet. This is not a media or gaming laptop, though. You can stream any service on its native screen (YouTube, etc) easily, play music streaming or old school mp3s (you’ll need a separate drive for CDs/DVDs), but I wouldn’t push it beyond that.In conclusion, it’s what I expected for the price. I wish it had an older version of Windows and a keyboard backlight, but neither is necessary for my needs. I use it for listening to music while typing and sometimes streaming YouTube, it works fine for those things. I’ve un-bloated the system as much as possible and done some tweaks to get it to run as fast as it can, but not every buyer may know how to do this and especially running OneDrive all the time can bog the system down considerably. It definitely needs a separate flash or hard drive to extend its memory. I will update this review in the future if any issues arise.

I got this for my college course work. I have a high performance laptop and needed something like weight and portable. I also didn’t want to sped a ton of money.The pink is super cute. No scratches nor dents nor anything to tell you that it was used / refurbished.Start up without issue. Signed into google for docs and other favorites.You can’t set this to Chrome browser – at least I can’t – HP has a blocker and I cant get the right mindset to disable it. You can use other browsers w/o issue, I just prefer chrome.It is not good for gaming nor multi streaming. I can watch spectrum or prime or w/e, but if I open another window the streaming window will buffer. It is also slow b/c it will get a ton of adds (not chrome).EXCELLENT price point. Super happy for my purpose.If you need a laptop and are mindful of your budget for any reason, give this a shot. I think with the expectations you’ll be satisfied.

I was really scared to buy a computer that didn’t have very many reviews and was a little cheaper but so far not bad. Great memory. It seems a little on the cheaper side as far as computers go, but it definitely gets the job done. Unfortunately though it doesn’t work with zoom and the camera is glitchy but overall not bad

Battery would not charge. Ran a battery life check and said battery needs replacing. Will be be returning. Other than the battery I liked the laptop itself. Lightweight!

I spent hours looking for the right laptop and am so glad I chose this one. It’s lightweight, has good speed, looks new, and is perfect for my needs. I use it basically for surfing the internet and for Word files… nothing too memory hogging. Seller is great, thank you kindly!

For On The Go it’s great. You can add more memory but I don’t know if it well slow down, cause have not done it yet . I have a Mac and I needed a windows for certain things. so far love it.

I’m a writer and student and use non-MS programs so I could not get a Chromebook. I also needed a laptop so I had a way to write or research when I was travelling. I have a large desktop “work” computer where most of my work is done. I had a similar HP laptop but the keyboard and touch pad went out and I expect that those two things are the weakest link in any laptop. Buy a silicon key cover to make the life of your keyboard last, but these laptops, on average last abut 2-3 years. Another thing that will make the computer last longer is to get a USB mouse to avoid using the track pad.About the only difference between the new and the old HPs was that this had 4G of RAM and the other had 8G of RAM. This Stream is definitely good at not seizing or lurching when you watch a movie or video. The other additive that Microsoft has put on this computer is the “Windows 10-S.” It is easy to get out of, and there is a toggle to change the program to “Windows 11 Home,” which is more capable of evading corporate MS’s iron handed ownership of my computer. The instructions are online and they send a large postcard with the computer which also has instructions. It is just a matter of going into “settings” and changing it.I do not mind the PC and MS “marriage” but I do not want a computer that tells me I can only use their programs which happened with Chromebook. This one is constantly asking (begging) me to turn on my Cloud service, and turn on other MS Programs. I do not do any of that, and I do not want to send my work to the cloud (When I import it into the big machine I will). I like that it has an extra USB port. Otherwise it is pretty basic and reminds me of Chromebook, (which I like but cannot use because of the non-MS proprietary writing programs I use).As far as using it for entertainment or videos, the sound is nice and loud (but not blasting) the picture is great, and it does not buffer endlessly– but that may be my internet service.My overall opinion is “nice.” It is a good computer for Students or Writers who do not want or need to spend $1000 on top of the line equipment. Nope. this is just a “tuck it in the bag and go” type computer.

I only used this laptop 5 times and it already has problems,I took it to BestBuy to have them check it out and they said they could not fix it what a waste of money I would not recomend buying a laptop from Amazon

I am not going to complain because the laptop did help me get through my collage courses. It runs slow and has a fuzzy screen but again you get what you pay for. It does hold a nice charge and I was able to do all my school work on it.

I needed a new laptop as my other HP was under attack . . I receive this in one day .I was very impressed by the case . The pictures don’t do it justice .It reminds me of carbon fiber . .This replaces another Hp 14 inch and it is slightly lighter. Hp has one problem in the past, the case at the hinge comes apart with keyboard rising up and the lower case cracking from really thin plastic .I only can hope this model has been improved . .Once you turn it on be prepared for lots up updates. I would recommend this model for casual user as I do not have a need for super power

This a great computer to use for homeschooling.

Covid hit and a family of four is now forced to do everything from home, so we head to Amazon and order HP laptops for everyone, from high end to this.My husband suggested this and honestly I was not on board. We have been using this for more than a year and it’s fantastic for my 8yr old son’s Grade 3 online interactive class. We paired it with a larger screen eventually when the 11″ screen seemed hard on him for 6 hours a day and that’s been helpful, but the laptop itself is quite good for the price point.He uses it for normal web browsing to supplement his learning, 6hours of online classes via zoom and after school for watching YouTube and various games. Granted he isn’t pressuring it like maybe an adult but he is also not as careful, and it’s survived.Well worth the money in my view.

Was excited to receive this laptop but it didn’t last long. Battery was at 2% when I received it and stayed there after hours of “charging” and shut off immediately when unplugged. Ran a diagnostic on HP assitant and it showed the battery needed to be replaced. Even the promise of $20 for a positive review would make me give this a 2 star. 1 star is too high.

Very easy lap top to set up and operate. Also small and easy to transport. Long battery life.

This laptop seems to get a lot of bad reviews but if you go in with open expectations a d realistic uses then you won’t be disappointed. This picture is fine but isn’t the amazing graphics you will get one something more expensive. Don’t plan on gaming or treating it like a full-sized desktop, use it to run some basic programs or to get homework done and you will be happy because it will work fine without spending a fortune.

The computer has been good thus far for my needs. I prefer small laptops for mobility and this is small but the laptop is light. I barely notice it in my bag. Battery life has been good but I use it only for writing. I don’t do have multiple projects or apps or heavy power usage programs. If you like or need a small laptop for a single dedicated purpose then this is a good choice and inexpensive.

It was actually smaller than advertised, barely hitting 13in. Haven’t really started it up yet, but it’s the first thing I noticed.
